Perfect location right in the city centre and yet by the riverside and parks. Fantastic ambience, great breakfast and very comfortable rooms with great views. I can only recommend this hotel!

This central Umeå hotel is just 50 metres from the Umeälven River. It provides free Wi-Fi, an on-site restaurant and bar, as well as modern rooms with a flat-screen satellite TV. The location was very convenient. Everything was easily accessible by walking - shopping, restaurants, bus and train stations. The breakfast was exceptional. The hours were reasonable, the selection was great, and the food was delicious. The atmosphere of the hotel was great. It was an older building, but obviously had been completely updated, so it had a lot of character but was very comfortable. The eating area was in a large glass covered courtyard that really added to the experience.

Hotell Gamla Fängelset is a converted prison from 1861 located in central Umeå and offers free WiFi and breakfast. All rooms have windows and shared bathroom facilities. Very nice hotel with a history of being a former prison. Close to the city centre. Friendly staff. Very affordable .Highly recommended.
