Just a 5-minute walk both from Heiligenblut’s centre and ski area, the family-run Hotel Kaiservilla features a spa area with a Finnish sauna and a steam bath, and a ski storage room with a ski boot... The breakfast was the best I've ever had in any hotel, and the staff at the breakfast was very attentive and friendly. Our room was huge, with a great bathtub, two sinks, good sized balcony overlooking the town and a doublebed. There was also a minibar with a selection of drinks, and a tv. The location in Heiligenblut is also amazing. You could see the whole town from the balcony of our room, and the snow-covered mountains behind it. It's a very small town so the walk from the hotel to the "centre" takes only a couple of minutes.

It was comfortable and we loved the garden unit setting of our room. The breakfast was excellent quality with a wide variety.

The barrier-free eduCARE Hotel in Treffen is a 10-minute walk away from the banks of the Ossiachersee Lake. It offers a restaurant with a garden terrace and free Wi-Fi. The hotel was easy to find--centrally located on the main road. Our room was modern, clean, and comfortable. The air conditioning actually worked, I was so thrilled (the other hotels on our trip had advertised air conditioning that didn't really work after all)!! The AC was fully adjustable in our room, so I sat there on the bed like a penguin that sits under the snow machine in the exhibit at the zoo; it was heaven. The breakfast was SO GOOD. Americans, this place had the crispiest bacon I have ever seen on the European continent. On our way to and from our room, we passed through a game room with foosball and pool tables, so naturally I challenged my husband to a game of pool (I won). There was on-site parking, and the connecting restaurant was also fantastic--we had dinner there. Our room also had a balcony which was nice. When we mentioned to the front desk upon checkout that we were going to the lake on our way out of town, they gave us a coupon so we wouldn't have to pay to go to the public beach.

Located at 2,304 metres above sea level in the Hohe Tauern National Park, Wallackhaus RegioJet Hotels is set next to the ski slope Grossglockner/Heiligenblut. This is an amazing location along the spectacular Grossglockner Alpine scenic highway. It makes you feel on top of the world surrounded by alpine peaks. The hotel was one of the most unique experiences we have ever had. We got the half board rate with breakfast and dinner included and the food was excellent. Gourmet coffee, tea and water with flavored syrups were included and available 24/7. Then there was assorted beer and wine, snacks, sumptuous deserts and some of the best ice cream ever that you could get 24/7 by using a automated self serve kiosk. Each room was given a card to scan to purchase items and it was charged at checkout. It was a system built on honesty. They have a outstanding wellness area including 2 saunas, a relaxation room and a jacuzzi. There was also an activity room with ping pong, foosball and darts. The rooms were simple but very clean and comfortable with most having mountain views. The staff was very helpful in our inability to speak the local language. We had toured for 12 days and this hotel was the highlight for our group of 5.

Just 200 metres from the banks of Lake Wörth, Hotel Plattenwirt is located next to the Europapark, a 10-minute walk from the Minimundus miniature park and from Klagenfurt University. The room I had was very big for the price I paid. Worth every penny!
