The last emperor of Austria-Hungary, Blessed Charles Habsburg, stayed there with his wife, Servant of God Zita, and their family; the history of the castle is also related to, among others, the French Revolution. There is an old, very interesting chapel next to it. The castle is beautifully situated, overlooking the lake, surrounded by a vast, magnificent park; it has terraces, herb gardens and beautiful plants under the windows. Interesting interiors, especially historic staircase and the Silent Room. Family apartment consists of 2 rooms with a bathroom and a kitchenette; the apartment was very clean, well-equipped, with a nice view of the park and a side view of the lake. Breakfasts are plentiful and tasty. The price is high, but it is a castle after all!

Very nice and spacious room, with view over the lake, many windows and a little terrace as well, a kitchenette. The staff was very accommodating for our needs and were able also to extend our stay due to unforeseen circumstances. Hospitality at its best.
