The warm welcome and thoughtful touches, like the Christmas decoration, added an extra layer of charm and friendliness to the experience. Despite it being Christmas, Gerth arranged for me to have breakfast every day, which just proves his exceptional hospitality. The Filipino crew at the reception were equally delightful—friendly, helpful, and always smiling. The highlight of my stay was witnessing the aurora borealis not once, but twice, from the comfort of my very own room. The transparent ceiling allowed me to marvel at this natural wonder without even stepping outside. It was pure magic, and truly one of the most unforgettable experiences I’ve ever had in a hotel. If you’re looking for a unique, cozy, and truly special place to stay in Greenland, the Inuk Hostel Aurora Hut is an absolute must. I will treasure this magical Christmas forever.

The staff at Inuk Hostels is friendly, professional, and welcoming. I liked that the staff at Inuk Cafe (where check-in is done for Inuk Hostels) was attentive to the needs of guests during my stay and that they were always willing to help us call for a taxi, arrange for a meal at the cafe, or provide assistance with booking tours and services provided by Inuk Travel. The room I stayed in was part of the Puisi lodge, where I enjoyed a nice bedroom that was attached to a common area that included books about Greenland, a working kitchen, and access to a shower and restroom that had hot water. The thing I like most is that there are windows facing all directions so you can take photos of the aurora without having to go outside in the cold. The hostel is strategically located: a convenience store and a small diner right next door; 10 minutes walk to two supermarkets; 20 minutes walk to the seaside. There is a bus stop right opposite the hostel too. There is plenty of common shared spaces ie 8-seats long dining table; 3 long sofas in the living room upstairs; kitchen equipped with an oven, microwave, dishwasher, plenty of pots + pans, cutlery, and a wide selection of cooking spices. A cleaner comes in almost every day to do the common area. Even laundry detergent is provided.
