I booked one of their private rooms and it was more comfortable than I expected from a hostel room.

Beautiful property, great pool, beautiful room. Frog ponds were pretty neat and we saw a few red-eyed tree frogs on the night it rained. One of the most lovely hotels we booked in Costa Rica. Would recommend it to a friend.

Comprising a garden and a terrace, Smile Jungle Hostel is a recently renovated accommodation in Puerto Viejo set close to Cocles Beach. If you are looking for a place to party that's definitely not the right place. But if you are looking for a quiet place, where you can hear and maybe see (if you are patient) wild animals, that's definitely the place to be. The location is great, far away from the party but close enough to get some groceries or to go on the beach. But the best of all is Gonzalo, the owner of the place. He is an amazing human and a skillful chef. The breakfasts are amazing. Thanks for all the good memories, Monsieur Gonzalo. I am wishing you the best for the new year coming. And let's get the 4th ⭐. KAÑIK APART HOTEL in Puerto Viejo provides adults-only accommodation with an outdoor swimming pool and a garden. Outstanding facilities: A very beautiful place in nature. Modern, clean, extremely comfortable, great pool. Staff: Amazing, friendly staff who were always there to help and support. Food: Great breakfast with good options and flexibility for dietary requirements. Location: Amazing place surrounded by the forest. With an amazing beach within 2 mins walking distance (the most beautiful beach we could find in the area + barely visited by others). 15 mins car ride to Puerto Viejo. Overall outstanding place, worth every penny. Would definitely come back here! 10/10

Located within a few steps of Negra and 25 km of Jaguar Rescue Center, Casa Caribbean Coconut provides rooms with air conditioning and a private bathroom in Cahuita. The accommodation is in a very quiet and pleasant area, but still close to everything. It’s easy to reach, and the ocean is just a short walk away. The room was very clean and well-equipped with everything I needed. The host was extremely kind and helpful throughout my stay. I would definitely stay here again!

Set in Puerto Viejo, 700 metres from Negra Beach, Mecca offers accommodation with free bikes, free private parking, an outdoor swimming pool and a garden. I stayed at Casita de Flores (the one-bedroom cottage). It was beautiful. The decor and layout were great and perfect for one person. There's AC, not fan, which is appreciated. Also, the grounds are lovely, very cultural and intimate. The owner Kim showed us around and gave a tour of the two-bedroom cottage and the area. It's Black owned (from an American woman), which I liked and wanted to support. I'm glad I did.

A recently renovated bed and breakfast situated in Tortuguero, near Tortuguero Beach, Cabinas Tortuguero Sports Fishing features free WiFi, a private beach area and a garden. Primo and his wife welcomed us perfectly, taking care of all our needs, recommending good restaurants and a tour guide. The tranquility and atmosphere around were exactly what we needed after landing in Costa Rica.
