BEST PLACE IN ICELAND!!! take a couple of rest days from the road in this peaceful and modern place. the view is mesmerizing and breathtaking. extremely closed to the black sand beach and you can find markets and groceries in Vik, city located like 8min from the place. fantastic stay! the hostess was so warm n friendly. love the cosy feel and interaction with the lovely dogs, horses, cats n a little lamb! location is so close to black beach n Dyrholaey. VIK is just a 8-10 min drive away.

It’s been a long time since we stayed in a guesthouse. We were apprehensive to book an overnight stay with a shared bathroom. Since the accommodations in Vik were limited, we took a chance and opted for one night stay at Carina. We were pleasantly surprised how well things worked out. Our room was spacious with comfy bed and crisp white linens. The bathroom was across the hall from our room. There was ample time to shower and use the facilities with complete privacy. It’s my understanding that if you book your room directly with Carina, breakfast is included. Otherwise it will be extra. During the summer, breakfast is served 8-9:30 daily. We’re unable to comment on quality of breakfast, as we had an early morning tour and left before it was available.

Surrounded by the continuous landscape of South Iceland, Skammidalur Guest house offers accommodations only 4.3 mi from Vík. You can view Reynisdrangar, Reynisfjall and Dyrhólaey from the property.

With the black sand beach just a walking distance away then it’s the place to stay if you’re looking for a place to stay around Vik. We had a room with shared bathrooms but it was the best shared bathroom I’ve ever seen. All the showers were located separately and had plenty of space, plus one had even view to the mountains. The kitchen area offered every appliance one might need to make breakfast, lunch or dinner. All in all, superb place and great value for money
