Akaroa has a lovely community feel, restaurants, supermarket and shops are within walking distance. Our suggestion is to arrive in daylight as the drive into Akaroa is beautiful. We had booked for only one night but had to stay for three due to a storm and flooded roads, our host Jackie was exceptionally kind to us during that time.
