A nice and friendly family running this hostal with a lot of love. Our room was amazing, the bath and shower top! The WiFi was good enough and the food was excellent. Free banana bread, tea, coffee and water made it just perfect. Go here and not in the overhyped cloud forest.

Hostal el Vaquero cuenta con vistas a la montaña, está ubicado en Chugchilán y tiene un restaurante, salón compartido, bar, jardín, terraza y zona de juegos infantil. Absolutamente todo. Todo limpio y cuidado, te hace sentir como en casa. El desayuno y la cena muy completos, casi no nos lo podíamos acabar. Las salas para descansar o pasar el rato muy agradables. La atención y los consejos de Víctor y el resto del personal han hecho que nuestra estancia haya sido de 10. Recomendable a cualquiera que quiera hacer noches cerca de Quilotoa. Ojalá podamos volver!

We are still blown away by this hostal. It was so nice to arrive and see this amazing view, and chill in the hammock while having tea and reading. Nice and big chilling area downstairs. The rooms are big, the breakfast was outstanding. When they serve the dinner, everyone comes to the table and talks about the hike and their journey. Everything was perfect. Just book it!

Everything was amazing! The communication from booking to arriving was great on how to get to the accommodation! The staff were so friendly and helpful! When we checked in we were given a bigger room to make our stay more comfortable! The restaurant on site is great and the food was all delicious including the breakfast which had a good selection to choose from! The animals on site were a very cute touch! Lots of chickens and ducks, and 2 Llamas that were very friendly and we got to feed carrots! They also can help with tours - we did the Cotopaxi base camp walk/hike - it was just us two with the guide and great value including lunch! They also offer affordable laundry!

Hostal Cloud Forest was easily the best hostel on our Quilotoa Loop trek. The room was clean and comfortable, the food was excellent, and the owners were súper helpful in giving advice and information about the trek. This hostel was much better value for money than other hostels on the Loop. Highly recommended!
