The whole room was very clean, well-equipped with amenities and just in general comfortable to stay in. It‘s not traditional japanese in any sense but sometimes a good western room is nice too.

Ohana asub Minami Asos, 21 km kaugusel Egao Kenko staadionist Kumamoto, 30 km kaugusel Suizenji pargist ja 32 km kaugusel Kumamoto lossist. It was central for everything we needed in the area. The room was clean and large, with all the amenities we needed, bath, shower, basic cooking etc. Our hosts were awesome and recommended an amazing private onsen spot. Can’t recommend them enough. Just wish we could have stayed longer. The Kumamoto region is stunning.

Located in Kikuchi and only 18 km from Hirayama Hot Spring, 民泊サライ七城 provides accommodation with mountain views, free WiFi and free private parking. We chose Kikuchi instead of Kumamoto, to get away from the city before our trip to Mt Aso. We got a lovely country house, but the main benefit was the lovely couple who hosted us. Super friendly and helpful. I enjoyed breakfast, my wife skipped hers, so the host packed it as a bento box for our lunch. Vegetables from the garden. A guided visit to the forest to see fireflies. Tastes of local food and drink. It was if we were lodging with my favourite aunt and uncle.

43 km from Mount Aso, hostel+cafe たね is a recently renovated property situated in Hōgano and features air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi and private parking. The owners are such a nice couple, very kind. We really enjoyed our days at hostel+cafe. The place is beautiful, very clean and confortable. The food was very tasty, Japanese traditional breakfast. We strongly recommend it.

Very kind and thoughtful owner, gave us a lot of wonderful recommendations for the area! The two cats were adorable and friendly. I would absolutely stay here again, there were also bikes available to rent and books to read! Room was wonderful and the futons were very comfortable

A recently renovated guest house situated in Minami Aso, お宿でん吉 features a garden. Great place to be. House and view are gorgeous. Cool audio system with karaoke.
