Best views we have had in Asia. Fantastic place if you want to go camping but don’t have any of the gear! This was the comfiest mattress and duvet we have had during our whole trip! The staff here are so helpful. They kindly lit our fire for us in the evening, cooked dinner, made coffee and beautiful breakfast overlooking the most stunning views of Mt Batur. Toilets were impeccably clean - so much cleaner than some indoor places we have stayed! Lovely warm shower. Highly recommend as a break from hostels and hotels - absolutely great experience!

Surya Camp Buahan offers a beautiful glamping experience right beside Lake Batur and Mount Batur. The location, set at a higher altitude, is cool and refreshing — quite cold, in fact — but the tent came with a warm and cozy bed, so we stayed comfortable without needing extra layers. At night, the minimal light pollution creates the perfect setting for stargazing — an absolute treat for astrophotography enthusiasts. Mornings by the lake are stunning, with plenty of photo opportunities. Breakfast was included, and the Mi Goreng Sayur served was one of the best I've had — simple, flavorful, and satisfying. Overall, the stay was peaceful, scenic, and truly magical. I’d love to return someday!
