United StatesThe property looks even better in person, which is rare. The landscaping is beautiful. The bed in my cottage was one of the most comfortable beds I’ve ever slept in. The mattress was extremely nice. Lots of pillows too. And very vibey- warm lighting! We ended up extending two extra nights because of the comfortable bed. The power went out for about an hour every day from the wind, yes. But it isn’t their fault. You’re out in nature on top of a mountain. It always came back quickly. The pool is a nice temperature for swimming when the sun is out. It’s not a heated pool. And there are nice lounge chairs. The owners are super friendly and helpful.
I see some reviews about the last hill leading to the property being scary and no driver would attempt it. This made me nervous. But actually, if you’re an experienced motorbiker, it’s no problem, really. I recommend arriving in daylight though. I didn’t, and it was a very dark drive.
If you are arriving from the south, I do not recommend taking Jalan Culali with an automatic motorbike and two people + luggage. You can find the road by searching “The Kuyuan.” It is very steep (with gears, it’s okay). Try the road southeast of that, closer to the lake (Danau Batur).
