The owners were really nice and very warm. They even received us with milk and cookies! The location by the lake is without doubt the best part of the establishment. We enjoyed a very nice afternoon walk by the lake, we definitely won't forget about that!

Flying trout boutique lodge is one of the most beautiful places I have stayed in the world . We had a lovely suite upstairs with a panoramic view of lake Taupo . Breakfast is wonderful and Karen will insure you are pleased with everything served . Rob is helpful with area info and a few nights he drive us in to town for dinner . We would definitely stay at this charming lodge again - treat yourself if you are in lake Taupo

Excellent place to stay! We came for a triathlon race. At check in, Anthony had printed out the swims bike and run course maps for me, gave us travel tips, and provided us a cot for our baby. The rooms are perfect, warm water for showers, kitchenette, fridge, microwave, comfortable bed. The location is perfect right across from the lake, and within a short walk of several places to eat. There is also a free washer and dryer with soap provided. Anthony checked on us several times to see if we needed anything. We would absolutely stay here again!
