Cabins in Cerro Azul

This place was magical. Pictures simply do not do the view from our room justice! You can see for miles into untouched rainforest in the national park, and watch raptors spiral up from the valley, riding the thermals. We saw many species, most notably white hawk and black hawk eagle without leaving the table in our sitting area. As dusk settled, we enjoyed hearing mottled owls, broad-billed motmots, mistletoe tyrannulets, and other species as we relaxed in comfort by the private pool. The pool was clean, cool, and a luxurious addition to the room! The property is in close proximity to many hiking trails that you can only access if you stay right within Cerro Azule! The owners were incredibly hospitable and kind to us. They showed us some tree frogs (Lucas and Lucy!) and were very interested in conservation and protecting biodiversity. They kept a beautiful, well maintained garden. We also saw a lot of wildlife and bird species right on the property or a short walk down the road, including a sloth and toucans. If you are a birder, I highly recommend this spot. I wish we could have stayed for a month!

Beautiful location, very welcoming and helpful hosts, all you need for the stay in this rustic place is there (a few BBQs, kitchens, bathrooms, terrace, etc.) Good option for this price!

The room was large, and the bed was comfortable. There was a closet with hangers and shelves for my clothes and a table with chairs. The air conditioning worked really well. The bathroom was clean and a good size. Laundry machine was convenient. The dining room was perfect for eating my breakfast. Kitchen was fully equipped. The on-site staff was very helpful and friendly. The owner was very personable.
