It is a beautiful oasis of calm in an over-developped and commercialised Bali. The gardens are stunning, full of healing plants/herbs/fruit - all organic. The nearby walks thru the rice terraces are just gorgeous. The food, the people, the location - all make this the perfect place to stay if you want to experience the real Bali. Excellent location away from the crowds with a magnificent view on the rice fields. Arta gave us a wonderful welcome and gave very good advices. There are some very beautiful walks to do near the accommodation.

Despite reading many reviews before booking, and being inspired by one in particular to stay for three nights, I still felt a bit uncertain during the journey. But the moment I arrived, those worries faded. Here, I felt once again the purest form of human trust. Even without speaking the same language, deep connection was possible—through a gesture, a glance, a shared smile. The atmosphere is incredibly calming, and the food gave me real energy, not just physically but emotionally. To be honest, I find it hard to put this experience fully into words. Sanda feels different from anywhere else in Bali. This is not a place for passive tourism—it gently asks something of you too. If you're looking for a space to be still, to read, to think, to meditate, or to unplug from social media and constant feedback, this is a rare and beautiful choice. I spent three days here reading and reflecting, allowing my life to pause. My conversations with Harry gave me a deeper understanding of plants—their fruits, their rhythms, their stories. December is durian season, and I know I will return. Time spent here feels like a gift. I hope you give yourself one too.

Located 31 km from Tanah Lot Temple, UmaUthu Bali offers an outdoor swimming pool, a garden and air-conditioned accommodation with a terrace and free WiFi. Location! Right in the middle of the rice fields and jungle! This establishment is a great place if you want to have nice walks along the famous rice terraces. The noise of the nature at night takes time to get used to. Same with sleeping in a room with geckos - but that's pretty normal in Bali. The host was really helpful in helping with arranging the healer when my husband had back pain. Thank you! We will always remember our stay.
