Property is run by very welcoming and nice family. We were warmly greeted. Very good breakfast, but too much for us, and they changed it according to our wishes. Also they arranged for us jeep safari in Minerya national park (as per their advice due to elephant's path) and we saw a lot of those incredible animals. Special thanks to Ravi - family member who speaks very good English and advised us for many things.

Located within a minute walk from Palugaswewa railway station and 4.3 km from Habarana Lake, Bissa Villa offers a private lodge with air conditioning and mosquito net. We absolutely fell in love with Bissa Villa! The gardens, the pool, the bungalows, the scent of flowers, the sounds of birds and other wildlife.. it was truly paradise! ;-) The welcome from the two hosts, a wonderful couple, was very warm. They showed us around the property and offered that we could still have dinner at their restaurant The Train Hut (even though we arrived late). We ended up eating there every single night during our stay! They offer a fantastic combination of Sri Lankan - backpacker - Western style food, which is a hit for every tourist, of course. The pool was very relaxing after a day out in the "Golden Triangle", and the breakfast pancakes (Sri Lankan style, sweet pancakes, rolls with honey and cardamon and coconut) were favorite for our kids. And they had proper coffee! You could tell the hosts have been to Europe, as they spoke very good English and knew what their customers want. A touch of home combined with the adventures of Sri Lanka! Our hosts had some very entertaining stories about how they chase away monkeys off the property, as well as elephants that visit in the night (not during our stay).

Situated 10 km from Pidurangala Rock, Atha Tree House offers accommodation with a terrace. There is a fully equipped private bathroom with bidet and free toiletries. I had an amazing stay at Atha Tree House! In the given price range, they provided a free breakfast, which was very delicious. I also ordered dinner, and it was both tasty and great value for money. The highlight of my stay was hearing elephants walking under the treehouse at night—an unforgettable experience! Highly recommend this place for nature lovers.

It is a single mother in charge of her bed and breakfast. Although it is basic It is super clean well maintained. She is adorable and would recommend to stay if you’re not looking for luxury. Provide good breakfast and also provide a tour to take you around for an acceptable price. The driver is her friend and he is super kind. You can spend four hours to visit the ancient city for a really acceptable price Would recommend strongly to do it.

Location: You feel right in the jungle, very peaceful. Pool is lovely. Management is friendly and helpful. The son, Passn , was always with a wonderful smile. Very helpful and efficient in organizing transport and safari ( without pressuring you). Clean, large room. Bathroom a little cramped. Shower gel provided. Net on bathroom window is good. Wifi mostly good. Good breakfast, with choice of eggs as well as pancakes filled with coconut cream, toast, fruit, juice and coffee/tea. Last day, amazing breakfast, with string hopperd and dhal, in addition to everything else. Variety of dinner choices. Vegetable curry and kottu were delicious. Cute cocker spaniel!

Situated in Pahala Maragahawewa, 39 km from Kumbichchan Kulama Tank and 39 km from Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi, Wilpaththu Wild Wonder features accommodation with air conditioning and access to a garden. I believe this guest house is ideal for people doing a Wilpattu Safari: - it is located right next to the park entrance. - it is not luxurious, but who needs a luxurious hotel if you are going to spend the entire day on safari anyway? - the AC worked great, the bed slept well and it has an ensuite shower and toilet. - they were happy to supply lunch and breakfast for the safari, and prepare dinner as well. I ate very well there. - the hostess was very kind and happy to help with questions. - if you are lucky you may already spot some animals from your window! I saw a wild peacock and monkeys. But apparently elephants also sometimes roam through nearby fields.
