Located in Tarapoto in the San Martin region, Lagoon Village B&B y SPA provides accommodation with free WiFi and free private parking, as well as access to a sauna. One of the best places we have ever stayed! The owners approach, communication is top. The surrounding and services they offer are wonderful (animals around, can ride a horse, spa). If I ever come back to Tarapoto, this is the place I am staying 10000%! Thank you again.

Amazing food that was served in different places out in nature, the room was very beautiful and the staff did everything to make sure we had a good time! Situated in Lamas in the San Martin region, Chirapa Manta Amazon Lodge features accommodation with free private parking. Some units have a terrace and/or a balcony with river or garden views. Over many years traveling through South America I have not found a place like this. A unique combination of pristine location right a the river with access for swimming, beautiful clean rooms, excellent vegetarian meals and a genuine ecological commitment paired with a know how of the owners of the area which is a great plus. Javier and Claudia not only manage the property, they also lead a number of excellent and great value activities. I went on hikes and did several other experiences which were all outstanding. Highly recommend staying a Chirapa Manta either individually or part of a retreat.

Situated in Tarapoto, Cordillera Escalera Lodge features free WiFi, and guests can enjoy a garden, a private beach area and a terrace. The main thing about this lodge is that you are both really immersed in the natural environment but a walk or short moto-taxi ride from town. The more expensive luxury lodges further out of town maybe have more green space to explore and an even more secluded vibe... but this is a great compromise to experience both city and jungle at a great value price. Mindblowing fauna on-site - hummingbirds, woodpeckers, toucans and cute tamarin monkeys in the trees close by the bungalows (though as with elsewhere in the cloud forest area, you might need a telephoto lens or binoculars to see them as the canopy is so high). There was an abundance of butterflies and I had a praying mantis on my door one morning. As a naturalist who loves insects it was totally magical to stay here... the biodiversity is off the scale - amazing to have this 10 minutes from the town centre. By Urku down the road I also saw a monitor lizard ( a few metres long ), frogs at dusk and a macaw above the river. As a solo English traveller, having Christian there to translate for me also made a huge difference. He offered me lifts to town / elsewhere...booked me taxis... and generally went above and beyond as a host. Thankyou so much Christian! All the other people who worked there were also very kind sweet people, ready to help me when needed too. Like many places in Peru, it's gated and has a night guard ( also a lovely guy )... so it feels safe despite it's isolation. Tarapoto in general felt safe to me and I loved visiting the colourful town as well - I'm glad I didn't miss out on that being at the more remote lodges.

Featuring an outdoor pool and a restaurant, Pumarinri Amazon Lodge offers accommodations in Chazuta, in front of Huallaga River. Everything was fantastic, I will be coming back soon. The food, service and location was unbelievable. I recommend taking all the tours the hotel offer.
