Set on the banks of the Tugela River, 22 km north of Winterton, Tugela River Lodge features self-catering accommodation 13 km from Spioenkop Nature Reserve and 22 km from Winterton Museum. We loved this location - quaint, comfortable, and welcoming. The setting and the cabin were fabulous. Julian, our host was great. The cabin had everything we needed. It was clean and roomy, and the beds were comfortable. The wood-heated hot tub was fun. Guest could rent bikes, buy firewood, and 'shop' in the farm stall for fresh eggs, honey, wonderful homemade freezer meals, and much more There are several trails right out the front door that enable you to hike or mountain bike to a reserve with zebras and giraffes. We all wished we could have stayed longer! Thanks Julian!

The hosts were friendly and communicative - kept me appraised of when the cottage was ready, where to find the keys and where to park. The unit was a delight, comfortable and well equipped with thoughtful touches that speaks of a host that really cares. The location suited my needs perfectly and the natural beauty that it is located in was a plus.

Situated in Underberg in the KwaZulu-Natal region, Birches Cottage & the Willows Garden Room features accommodation with free private parking. Duck and Elsabe are a beautiful couple. They have put some much love and attention to the place and also made us feel like home. We enjoyed their beautiful garden, so so special it was!! And after our stay they also helped us with the flat tires that we had. Really appreciate all the help and the stay. Thankyou very much 😊
