The bed itself was also very nice. The location is central and it is great to discover Berat by foot. The staff was nice and helped us reserve a walking tour.

SpainStaying at Berati Castle Hotel was truly one of the best hotel experiences I’ve had. The service was outstanding from start to finish, and the location is incredibly charming—set within the historic part of Berat Castle, yet everything inside the hotel Is new.
The breakfast was abundant and very delicious, offering a wide variety of fresh, local options.
The dedication of the staff truly stands out, especially Adriano, whose kindness and constant attention to guests’ needs made the stay exceptional. His warm attitude and professionalism added a special touch to the whole experience.

Berat is a Unesco World Heritage site so well worth the visit. Tourism is increasing dramatically! I recommensd the free Guru Walking Tour with an informative guide to understand the history of the place. It's 2 hours and well worth it (pay what you feel it's worth). The castle at the top of the hill is almost another town in itself. You can walk up but I recommend a taxi! The views over the countryside are beautiful and there's lots of places to eat and drink. You can spend several hours up there alone! Two days in Berat aught to do it!

We spent two nights in Berat, one in a commercial hotel in the new part of town and another in a quaint hotel in the old town. This made all the difference as the old town has so much character, its wonderful to walk around the old houses, many of them restored. There's always something unusual and historical references are found written on the walls. The expansive views found in Berat are unforgettable.

The castle walls on top of the hill are excellent to visit, but the experience is let down slightly by all the cars entering the castle grounds. The old town area is nice for a short visit, but not as extensive and "used" as other similar towns. The food in the restaurants ( outside the old town) was very good and reasonably priced.

Berat is know as village/ town of 1000 windows.
Berat is know as village/ town of 1000 windows. There are 2 area of the old town which are on both sides of the river. It worth just wandering the streets of both old towns. The view from the castle also gives a different perspective. A beautiful old town with so much character. Plan at least 2 nights so you have at least one full day but 2 would be better.

Berat is fun to wander around in, with the castle on top of the hill still occupied as it was hundreds of years ago. The reason to go to Berat is the architecture and wonderful setting. Lots of good restaurant choices.

The town had so much to see and was absolutely beautiful.
The town had so much to see and was absolutely beautiful. The Ottoman era area was preserved amazingly well, as were the other parts of the old city. There were nice stores. The old city juxtaposed well with the modern era shopping and walking street that ran along the canal and a park where the town residents were out gathering in the evening. I recommend an overnight stay.

The loveliest hosts, breathtaking view of Berat and the breakfast made by Maria with fresh, local ingredients was one of my favorite things during my stay in Albania. When we had trouble with finding the location the hosts offered to walk us there. The next day when we had trouble with arranging a trip by bus to Bogove waterfall, Maria arranged for another guest to take us there. Overall this felt more like staying with a family relative then staying at a hotel. Love from Polonia 🇵🇱♥️🇦🇱

Hotel is in one of Berat's "historic" homes. From outside, it has that stunning historic look. Inside, hotel is completely renovated. Rooms have new floor, paint, ceiling, windows... new and clean. You get the complete immersive experience. The breakfast is amazing. We stayed at a few other more luxurious and expensive hotels in Albania for the rest of our trip, but the breakfast in Ansel beats all of them. The eggs were just perfect!

Beautiful traditional Albanian home which has been converted into a hotel with four bedrooms. The restaurant at the hotel appears to be very popular with guests and locals alike which is always a good sign. The owners and staff were incredibly friendly and hospitable. I would highly recommend this hotel which is very close to the Gorica Bridge so in a great location for Berat.

A lovely family owned hotel in Berat. They have private parking next to the hotel which made our stay very comfortable. The breakfast is good and it was particularly nice to try some Albanian variety of breakfast. Good location and very quiet area during the night. They accept card. We had no complaints.

A very charming, family run hotel very well located in Berat. Exceptional staff and service - very warm and hospitable. Must have dinner at the restaurant as the food was amongst the best we had in Albania. The mother runs the kitchen and the food had very strong home food vibes.
