I arrived quite late because I had had a car accident that afternoon and also because when I reached Gjirokaster, it was dark and I was unable to locate the place. However, I called Maradona and he was quick to assist. In view that it was late when I arrived, I had dinner at the hotel, which was delicious and great value for the price paid.

United KingdomBeautiful stay! The room was spotless and in a great location. The stay is in the heart of the old town, just a few minutes from the bazaar and castle walls. No noise or hustle and bustle from the inside of the room though!
Breakfast across the road was great, and the staff were lovely. Would 100% recommend to anyone visiting Girokaster

AlbaniaIt’s a new hotel decorated as the old houses you find in Gjirokaster, so it’s very pleasant. The beds were very much to our taste, you didn’t sink in. Everything was clean and the location was so convenient, because you can access the Old Town right away taking in the main street by car (or walk uphill in the cobble stones street if you like). Breakfast was varied, continental and abundant.

Gjirokastër has masses of charm and several beautiful old...
Gjirokastër has masses of charm and several beautiful old houses you can visit, plus the castle of course. The Cold War Tunnel is good, and a different experience than Bunk'Art in Tirana.
We stayed near the Old Bazaar and walked to all the main sights, which did mean some hill climbing.
Furra restaurant in the Old Bazaar was great.
One day we drove (1.5 hours each way) to the Butrint Archaelogical Park which is well worth it for people interested in history.

Gjirokastër is a beautiful and historic city that feels like stepping back in time. Its stone houses, narrow cobbled streets, and impressive castle create a unique atmosphere you won’t find anywhere else in Albania. The old town is full of charm, with traditional architecture, small cafés, and friendly locals who make the visit even more special. The views from the castle over the Drino Valley are breathtaking, especially at sunset. Gjirokastër is the perfect place to explore history, culture, and authentic Albanian life in one unforgettable destination.

Old Gjirokaster is a well preserved historical city worth visiting. The atmosphere of old world is all around in the beautiful mansions, the cobbled uphill/downhill streets, the massive castle looming above it all. The people are friendly, the prices reasonable. A helpful tip, wear thick-soled shoes as the pretty cobble-stones can be felt under your feet after walking a while or if you have sore knees/hips/ankles use a walking stick for support going up/down the inclines and stairs. Highly recommended.

Gjirokaster is lovely!
Gjirokaster is lovely! A great deal to do and see - the best activity is, of course, people watching. We met and had dinner with two other traveling couples because the city has a relaxed, welcoming aura. The shopping was quite nice, too.

Gjirokastër is well worth a visit.
Gjirokastër is well worth a visit. From the main street (bus terminal), it’s a fairly steep climb to the main tourist area and castle. Beyond the castle, and much less crowed, you can make a hike to Ali Pasha bridge.
The castle offers a pleasant viewpoint over the valley, and the obelisk also provides a good view of modern Gjirokastër.

Family business with very committed and nice personnel, which constantly make the effort for the customers to feel at ease. Spacious and nice rooms, all very clean. Nice breakfast. We enjoyed much the swimming pool, that is big and deep, specially as the weather has been really warm during our stay. The location feels a bit strange at the beginning, as the hotel is directly on the road but it is finally ok and very convenient to visit Gjirokaster and the surroundings. Overall, very good quality for the money. We have enjoyed a lot our stay

This is my 7th or 8th time visiting Gjirokastër, and while I’ve always met kind and helpful hosts, Hotel SS Kekezi truly stands out. The host here is simply amazing — warm, friendly, and genuinely caring. The room may be small, but it’s perfectly cozy, beautifully decorated, and full of charm. Breakfast was delicious, the view breathtaking, and the location couldn’t be better. If you’re visiting Gjirokastër, you won’t find a friendlier or more welcoming team than at Hotel SS Kekezi. Highly recommended!

Spent 2 nights at Hotel Pashai , was very happy with the accommodation's. Ermand and his staff were very friendly and gracious hosts.
The room was small but very comfortable with all the amenities included. Breakfast was a good way to start the day exploring Gjirokaster.
I really appreciated Ermand assistance in parking the rental car as the hills & roads are quite challenging.
We would highly recommend this hotel for its locations , staff & cleanliness.
