It was my birthday so was a very special stay. I used the spa, had a treatment, ate and drank on the wet deck. I fully appreciated the 12pm check out. I ordered room service and really made the most of the room.

At the meeting point of Australia’s Sunshine Coast and Gold Coast, laid-back Brisbane is spread around the meandering river running through it. The river’s artsy South Bank is home to Australia’s largest modern art gallery, tranquil gardens and an artificial beach. Just across the river is the towering skyline of Brisbane's central business district, the location of many hotels in central Brisbane.
Nearby are the botanic gardens and Queen Street Mall, the most popular Brisbane shopping spot. There are more shopping centers all over the city, and the out-of-town malls include one in the Indooroopilly suburb by the foothills of Mount Coot-tha.
This green hill offers fabulous city views and has a planetarium, nature reserve and yet more botanic gardens. In Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary to the south, you can hug one of the lovable animals, while Australia Zoo – Steve Irwin’s legacy – is a good day trip.
Brisbane is a very leafy city and one of its parks, Wickham Park, contains the Old Windmill, Brisbane’s oldest building. To the northeast, the Fortitude Valley suburb is known for its vibrant music scene and Chinatown. Across the river in Woolloongabba is The Gabba or Brisbane Cricket Ground, and nearby is the bohemian West End district.

I only visit Brisbane for particular sporting or cultural events and it is good for that.
It is not that easy to move around the city and suburbs due to a lack of any consistency in planning and transport infrastructure. The State government negatively impacts by shutting down rail services on weekends regardless of the fact there is a massive event on. Ignorance being in greater motion than the 100s of trains standing idle.
If not visiting for a particular event or to visit family, you could easily give this city a swerve as it offers little that can't be obtained elsewhere - head to one of the coasts instead.

We were at the cricket (day night test), so had the mornings to explore and brunch, south bank was great, loads of malls and shops around. It was quite vibrant and busy but could have been because of the cricket. There were lots of really sad English cricket fans around which made it even better.

Lovely helpful staff, room was very spacious with an excellent view of the river and South Bank.
We were able to check in early and had no problems with a car park.
Favourite place was the Sky Deck and pool area.

I found it a very exciting place to visit with its River Ferries, tall tower buildings, the Sky Walk, Brisbane River, Roma Gardens, the City Botanic Gardens and the large Mt Coot-tha Botanic Gardens. Cheap 50c a trip public transport was a bonus for getting around. Warm weather with little rain was also a bonus for moving around.

Great city - spectacular storms and our location next to the Star Grand was fantastic walked everywhere it was so easy to get around used the ferry once to see what it was like. Clean toilets everywhere and options for dining recommend.

Brisbane CBD is a construction site.
Brisbane CBD is a construction site. It was once absolutely beautiful. Several shops have shut in the Queen Street Mall, H&M, Myer to name a few. The new casino is a bit cafeteria and other restaurants overpriced. It will be like this until the Olympics. I won't be back for a while. Was once my favourite place.

Much cheaper than any of the hotels or apartments but so much better. Big living space, good kitchen, nice bathroom, great balcony and very comfortable bed. Wifi was excellent, staff friendly and terrific location (with the city a short walk away and right on the walking bridge to get across to Southbank. Facilities were excellent with a well presented gym, heated lap pool and lovely spa.

This accommodation is perfect if you want to walk the city of Brisbane. You have easy access to the river, the botanical garden, Southbank and the CBD. You can walk as far as you want, and use city cats to go even further. A comfortable if older hotel, but the staff are friendly and professional and the facilities are good.

Good location, spacious room and within walking distance from the Southbank and CBD. Very clean. It is difficult to find a hotel with parking space guaranteed, especially when it is so close to the CBD, so I am happy with the room. There are many famous restaurants nearby. Convenience store is only two blocks away.

This property is located really well for Queen Street Mall and the City Botanic Gardens. A short, easy walk across the nearby bridge gets you to the Southbank and the West End. Getting out of the CBD from the hotel in the car is easy.
