FAQs about hotels in Brisbane

Sun-drenched & Leafy

At the meeting point of Australia’s Sunshine Coast and Gold Coast, laid-back Brisbane is spread around the meandering river running through it. The river’s artsy South Bank is home to Australia’s largest modern art gallery, tranquil gardens and an artificial beach. Just across the river is the towering skyline of Brisbane's central business district, the location of many hotels in central Brisbane.

Nearby are the botanic gardens and Queen Street Mall, the most popular Brisbane shopping spot. There are more shopping centers all over the city, and the out-of-town malls include one in the Indooroopilly suburb by the foothills of Mount Coot-tha.

This green hill offers fabulous city views and has a planetarium, nature reserve and yet more botanic gardens. In Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary to the south, you can hug one of the lovable animals, while Australia Zoo – Steve Irwin’s legacy – is a good day trip.

Brisbane is a very leafy city and one of its parks, Wickham Park, contains the Old Windmill, Brisbane’s oldest building. To the northeast, the Fortitude Valley suburb is known for its vibrant music scene and Chinatown. Across the river in Woolloongabba is The Gabba or Brisbane Cricket Ground, and nearby is the bohemian West End district.

Booking.com has plenty of downtown hotels, and other accommodations near Brisbane Airport in a northeastern coastal suburb.

Fantastic city: comfortable, vibrant, wealthy, with lots of green spaces, benches and parks. Extremely clean, with amazing "South Bank", riverside facilities, and dirt-cheap transport. Incredible investment levels into facilities that serve the public. An example to poor, dirty, run-down London of how to credibly serve its residents. Were I 30 years younger, I would pack my things., leave London without one look back and move to Brisbane in a flash, if it took me.

We were there visiting relatives, but managed a River Trip and lunch at Breakfast Creek Hotel which was good. We had the French "banquet" at Pompette which was also excellent. My husband was able to hire a bike and had a pleasant ride out as far as Bluey's World. As we were staying pretty close to the centre we could get to the Mall and across the new Bonner Bridge to Southbank

Convenient location, walking distance to all great...

Convenient location, walking distance to all great restaurants, bars, shopping and entertainment. Check in was delayed by 1.5 hours due to cleaners not collecting keys until 30 minutes before check in time. Don't know why they bothered because the apartment was disgustingly filthy from top to bottom. The furniture was cheap, uncomfortable garbage. We were expecting the bed to collapse just rolling over at night. All crockery, cups, glasses and utensils were old junk from an op shop and also filthy. Massive disappointment having to load the dishwasher to be able to use anything and then clean the apartment with disinfectant wipes yourself just so you feel somewhat clean and comfy.

Loved the 50c fares to travel on trains, buses and city cat on river. So many things to do - shows to see-museum and art galleries. Take a trip downstream to Westend and walk up Boundary street full of Op shops, cafes, bookshops. Take the city cat to Bulimba and visit the best french pastry shop Le Caprice for coffee and pastry ..you will not regret it !!

Southbank and the Cultural Centre are fantastic areas providing good food, convenient transport connections and access to great entertainment. People are generally very friendly and helpful. The only downside is traffic congestion on the M1 which delayed our arrival.

Very easy to navigate and get around.

Very easy to navigate and get around. We walked a short display to Fortitude valley train station and made our way to South Bank for less than $5 for 2 adults and 3 kids. Had the best time at Sth Bank park and man made pool, then a great dinner, drinks and live music at a pub 5min walking distance from the pool, easy walk back to train station. 3 happy exhausted kids and 2 happy adults

Everything was fantastic!!! Very fancy place to stay in CBD with amazing views of southbank and city. Room was decent size and the switch beside bed can even control lights & curtains with your name on TV is nice touch. Lot resturants within the building and easy access to all parts of Brisbane city. Lifts are available for disability guests. We found the leisure deck with 3 pools & bar, gym & chillout zone with outdoor cinema was epic(Lv 7) & private guest access to the skydeck & resturants is convenient.

The house is in a great location - only a few minutes from the CBD and easy access to arterial roads around Brisbane. We walked into Southbank one evening for a swim and feed - supermarket and foods options are only a short distance. The house is tidy and comfortable.

The location was good. Only a 20 or so minute walk to the super market. Slightly outside the main city of Brisbane but we found it ok. 1 hour walk to the CBD area. Good price for a budget hotel.
