ParaguayI stayed at Novotel Recife for a week and really enjoyed my experience. The room design and the beautiful sea view were amazing! It was definitely worth paying extra for an upgrade to a sea view rather than a city view, as the city side overlooks a busy street. The location was great, close to São José Market, where I had an authentic Recife experience. The pool area is stunning, with great views and good service. The gym, modern lobby, and stylish balcony made my stay very enjoyable. The breakfast was excellent, with great variety and high-quality options.

The esplanade, the old town, the random fiestas, the kiosks were all fab. Unfortunately one or two streets back it starts getting a bit lairy and festering. There are canal works going off as well which makes the whole area pen a bit.

If you are going for shopping or to walk on the beach than...
If you are going for shopping or to walk on the beach than you are in the right place. It has 2 big shopping moles and it has a nice place called Boa Viagem where I recommend you to go for some physical activity and even for a walk during the day.
People are extremely friendly, but of course there is a lot of people bagging on the streets, the rich are too rich and the poor are extremely poor.
I recommend you to go to the Capitão Gancho Pizzaria and Entre amigos o bode, both very nice places. The first one extremely local and the other one depends on which part of the restaurant you choose.
Always take an uber specially if you don't speak the language.
There are beaches "near by" 1h where you can swim with uber costing €21 or dollars one-way. Like for instance Porto de Galinhas Beach and city.

Amazing historic centre (part repaired, part in state of ruin), a palace and arts centres so plenty to spend a day. With more time I would have headed out ot town to attractions 30-40 mins away. A bike tour was a good way to esplore the city. Recife combined with Olinda could be a 4 day trip

The rooms need some upgrades and the bathrooms must get maintenance the water drainage issue is a problem and it needs upgrading to be more than a 3 star room.

I loved the locals, the culture, the beach, and the homeless people I fed while I was there. I liked the old center, the city in general I liked Olinda, and old town nearby that I should recommend. I like the Assai Supermarket and the Shopping Rio Mar. The Outlet restaurant at the shopping. The people are tall, beautiful, nice artists. I loved Recife and Porto de Galinhas and Praia dos Carneiros where I bought a flat. I live in Brasília, but have many friends in Araçatuba, São Paulo, where I was born and raised. They will all be in my flat when it is ready in 3 years.

Recife used to be a beautiful city but crime and a bad economy made the city one of the less pleasant experience. Many shark attacks happen in two of the major beaches, Boa Viagem and Piedade. All the coast has sign alerting that swimming is not recommended. I don’t see a point of ever visiting this place again.

The staff are very friendly and helpful. The food is nice and there's lots of Brazilian food available to try in the restaurant. The staff have a good knowledge of cocktails and present and mixed them professionally, and they were very tasty.
I stayed here for two nights with my partner (more than the usual for an airport hotel) but found it perfect as we could spend the day out, and come back to eat and rest. Its right on the metro line but uber is also cheap in Recife so the location made getting around easy.

The address is not correct. After I arrived in the wrong address I got none help from the owner. Neither from the customer support of booking.com to actually get the correct address. The hotel from the wrong address helped me to investigate and clarified for me. Nothing to add much. This is bad start and no support from the owner or message.
