European standards and Swiss specialties, something for everyone. The hotel location was excellent, we were able to access many beautiful hiking trails by foot.

SwitzerlandThe host was so kind already with a warm welcome. The rooms, toilets, shower, everywhere was clean. I enjoyed a lot the old furnitures in the building; the building itself is almost 900 years old. Also, I was very lucky to have a room with a lake view that I could get up with an amazing view from the bed. They have amazing terrasse in multiple layers - highest layer with tables and chairs for dining having a big tree in the middle (breakfast there with the lake view was just great), then they had nice chill lounge couches with parasol looks like a perfect place for apéro, middle layer for chilling with green grass, and the lowest layer with direct access to the lake where you can chill with the sun beds and parasols. It was so amazing! It felt like a hidden gem that we found like serendipity. Mind that they can host a very limited number of guests, so if you find it available, please don't miss this lucky chance! I loved that place also because I could feel that the hosts were putting their heart into their hotel. I will definintely come back!

beautiful secluded area in the middle of Switzerland, that is 1 hour away from Zurich and 1 hour away from St. Gallen and Appenzel. in 10 min you are in Weesen at the shores of Weesensee (a beautiful and tranquil lake between two mountains (no wonder the area is call the fiord of Switzerland).
it is a great area for hiking, watersports, and just relaxation.

A mountain farm village with wonderful Alpine views. Very family oriented offering skiing in Winter and hiking in Summer and Autumn. Many travel there from Zürich in winter to escape the gray and find the sun. Slopes there are perfect for beginners and the Ski School is very good and uncomplicated

There are great medium and easy slopes and tons of dining options for the small area. The walk around the lake was beautiful, we loved our stay at Hotel Sonne, and the ski rental was very easy. We had delicious Thai food in Weesen and great drinks on the mountain.

As a village Amden itself does not have a center where there are usually shops, restaurants. The main street leads to the lake or further up to the mountains. There are though many hiking paths and ski slopes nearby.

I love Amden!
I love Amden! I pretty much go there many weekends since it's so close to Zürich and easy to get to. There's tons to do here - hiking trails such as Leistchamm / Mattstock, awesome restaurants such as Holzstübli with their yummy chäshörnli, lovely locals, etc. Tons of scenic Swiss countryside and moo moo cows everywhere.

Great location with private parking and beautiful views. Just a 5-minute drive to the slopes' parking and within 300 meters of supermarkets. The hotel is run by a lovely and helpful family, providing a good breakfast for a small fee and an optional dinner in their dining room. Guests can also use the space to enjoy their own food. Overall, a great stay!

We have stayed in Amden several times, but this apartment was the best. It was clean, spacious, and very well equipped — so many thoughtful and useful details that made our stay very comfortable. The location is absolutely perfect: right in the center, close to the supermarket and the swimming pool, yet in a quiet and peaceful area. Highly recommended!

Amden and Walensee region is very nice, the view from the apartment is beautiful. The location of the apartment is very good, close to the main road and also not far away from Amden center.
