United KingdomAn excellent location. Near to station, bus stop outside hotel, within walking distance of gondola station to Oeschinensee. Our room was in the older part of the hotel- very Swiss with original features and decoration- full of character. A fantastic, spacious balcony overlooking part of the town and views up to the mountains with the sounds of the gently cascading river.
The room was reasonably large with comfortable beds and plenty of storage space. Wonderful ornate public spaces with grand dining room where we ate an excellent breakfast with a wide choice. We also used the indoor swimming pool a couple of times which was a real bonus and a bathrobe/swimming towel were provided in the room. This hotel has a real feel of "The Grand Tour!"

Kandersteg was incredible, out of season so was super quiet for the perfect chilled couple of days. The hike to lake Oeschinensee was beautiful, the snow adding to the whole experience.
Great transport links to the rest of Switzerland, has shops to provide what you’ll need while you’re there to cosy up in an apartment for a few days.

Kandersteg is a beautiful place for hiking and outdoor activities. I highly recommend to go to the Oeschenesee, it was one of our favorites on our trip. If you stay a little bit longer, maybe you also want to go to Saint-Leonard underground lake, what is easy to access with a car train that leaves from Kandersteg.

The apartment was spacious and had a terrific view from the balcony. Free parking was close by and checking in was a breeze. The kitchen was stocked with all the necessities and the refrigerator was good sized. The bed was comfortable and there was plenty of room for 5 adult guests. We could stay here again and highly recommend this property.

Kandersteg is a really lovely valley and town - not as touristy as other places but really beautiful and charming. I can recommend the tourist office (very nice people), Beckerei Marmotte for a real authentic village bakery and cafe/restaurant, and all the walks and cablecars - I can't wait to be back.

Easy travels whether on foot or from train and bus stops. Plenty of places to stop for coffee or buy a snack. Sunnbüel, Oeschinensee and Blausee are a must see.
Use the SBB app and google maps and you won’t get lost. If you have a half day to spare, take the bus to Adelboden just for the scenery.

Such a cute little town to spend a couple of days in!
Such a cute little town to spend a couple of days in! I wish I had stayed more than a night, but at this time of year I'm not sure there would have been that much more to do if I were staying a week or something. There does seem to be skiing in the winter, though, so I'm sure other travelers have much more to do during the winter!

The location was great, near the starting point for trail to Ochienensee and a bus stop to other regional sigh seeings. The view from the hotel was amazing.
The breakfast was one of the greatest I have ever had in a hotel, with fresh regional products.
The staff was very frienldy and helpful.

The room was a good size, and very clean. We had the whirlpool tub which was amazing with the Mountain views.
Location was perfect as it was near the station and also near the starting point of the walk to Oeschinensee lake.
We had pizza at the hotel restaurant which was really good!

Amazing balcony with amazing unobstructed view. Big comfy beds, plenty of storage space. Really good shower. A full kitchen with everything you need. Good location in the center of Kandersteg, but the apartment building was off the main road so very little noise. Dogs are welcome.

The receipt was very welcome as I knew the person from last year in another hotel Kandersteg. We talked quite a bit and he kindly explained the hotel and its background. He even arranged a table for me although the restaurant normally requires prior reservations.
