SloveniaGreat location, Chico. Room looks incredible, there is even carpet on the floor. There are a lot of additional bath/shower accessories, sadly shampoo only in sample bottles. Air conditioning works fast. Elevator is super fancy with views trough the glass and also very fast. Receptionist escorted me to my room and showed me everything, even where light switches are. It felt safe both in the hotel and outside of it. Hotel works on a very high professional level, they speak fluent English too. During my stay in Bogota I used in total 3 hotels, one 5 star and two 4 stars. This hotel, El Dorado, was probably the best of them, even exceeded my expectation compared to the 5 star I used days before.

Monserrate was nice. The Museum of Gold was fantastic and unique, worth the trip. The craft gallery across from the Museum of Gold was very good. A walk through the old part of town was very nice. Two days there were just fine. If you like museums a third way would be good. Rush hour traffic was crazy.

We were a group of four and booked a local tour company for private tours over five separate days. I highly recommend it, because we would otherwise not have known which neighbourhoods to explore, and we would have missed out on learning about Bogota’s interesting history. We stayed in the Parque 93 area and ate at several local Colombian restaurants there, also enjoying great Italian, Japanese, and Mexican food nearby. Getting around Bogota is easy and safe with Uber, but plan extra time for traffic, because there is always traffic! The people were so friendly.

Bogota, like other places in Colombia, is steeped in cautious optimism for the future. Everywhere we saw people, representing Colombia's mix of cultures, interacting with us and each other with friendliness and creative energy.
We recommend the Graffiti tour, Monserrate, and museums - Oro, Nacional & Botero. Walking around Candelaria and nearby neighborhoods is magical.
Bogota is also the jumping off place for the Amazon, the Caribbean coast and Medellin - all of which we enjoyed.

I love Bogota, the weather and the people are wonderful. it is like a combination of the good of a developed and the good of a developing country all in one. Of course there is some things that need improving, but it is a very nice combination of features.

Traffic is horrible and there is only bus service (no metro like Medellin and other more comparable cities). Give yourself ample time for transport if you're visiting the city. A 12km ride at 0700 from the airport to another part of the city took almost 2 hrs. The drive back at 1000 took 75 minutes. Good food. Helpful people. Wonderful museums. I prefer Medellín over Bogota for it's green spaces and ease of getting anywhere on the Metro.

Bogota is great, vibrant and exciting with friendly inhabitants. Where Toscana lodge is situated is perfect for long stays, like mine. It is reasonably close to el Centro and I walk to town every 2nd day, yet it is in the middle of Chapinero within walking distance to four Supermarkets.
I would stay here again without a doubt.

I loved my multiple stays at this hotel during my visit to Colombia. It’s a beautiful building in a perfect location in La Candelaria. The rooms are great and include a safe. A good breakfast is served every morning. Particular thanks to Alfredo and Gabriel for all their service and for always wanting to help – they are such a friendly team. Gran servicio! Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Bogota.
