Beautiful small town nested in the Coffee growing region.
Beautiful small town nested in the Coffee growing region. Great location to explore around other towns, and the famous Cocora Valley.
I am not sure if Salento or Filandia was used as the inspiration for Encanto (the movie).
Calle Real in Salento is full of small arts and crafts stores and plenty of restaurants to choose from.
We spent 2 night there and thought it was the right amount of time.
We ate dinner at El Patio which had live music, good food and service. Had lunch at Casa Willy’s (jeep) great food and good service too.
You can walk around and it is very safe.
My only recommendation is try not to drive into Salento at night, very dark, narrow road with tons of sharp curves, this drive at night is only for people experienced in driving in Colombia. Driving there at daylight is not an issue.

Salento is beautiful- a picturesque, Jurassic like gateway to the Cocora valley. Really chill town- great food- clean and safe. All around great vibes- especially at my Hilltop Hostal. Sunsets are spectacular from the jacuzzi and wrap around deck.

It is a great town with a lot of vibrancy and energy! The town itself is quite small, but it offers a lot for a 3-to 4-day stay. Numerous restaurants offer excellent food options. The main square is vibrant at night, and it's worth spending a couple of hours there, soaking in the energy and fun. The main street (Calle Real) has great shopping options for tourists. It also has a couple of places that offer great live music. Mirador and the steps leading to the top offer great views of the mountains and the valley. Take a jeep ride to Cocora Valley and enjoy the mountains and the river.

Salento is a magical town! its streets are colorful and people are really kind. You must try "Arroz con leche" from El Cesar Sabor Celestial. Literally is the best rice pudding in the world!!! it's really famous.

This is the best hotel we stayed in over our 20 days trip in Colombia. It's a small family-run place where we felt at home. The location is perfect - steps away from Salento square. The breakfasts were so good that we couldn't believe they were included! The hostess and stuff were very attentive and acommodating - they agreed to store our luggage while we were hiking for 3 days, and prepared an early breakfast for us. And the view from our room was amazing. Highly recommend!

The hotel is very well located at the edge of Salento. There is few noise, but it ends around 21.30 pm. The apartment is clean and spacious, the kitchen is well equipped. The best plus is for the owner, which is very nice and helps you with everything you need. He arranged for us a transfer at the airport at 3 am. We highly recommend this aparthotel, we wish we could have stayed more.

Very nice hotel, located on the outskirt of Salento, but only a 10-minute walk from the center. The staff is very friendly and supportive in arranging any activity in the area (of which there are many). The rooms are extremely spacious, only the bathrooms could be a little bigger. The view from the room is also very nice, both the mountains in the distance as the central garden area.

Great position in salento. Just 1-2min away from the plaza where the most of life is during day and night.
Lovely rooms and establishment, i think its the most colorful hotel we have ever been to.
There are some activities you can plan from the hotel reception, but we didnt need it.
