Nice region, the surrounding nature is beautiful. Many great restaurants and stalls. Excellent ice cream in Doksy in the bistro at Strnad. Nice cycle paths. Beautiful cycle path to Bezděz. Only the markings are worse in places. In some places the path is not marked as a cycle path, but it could be used that way and the cyclist would get to many nice more distant places.

The destination is not very suitable for cycling, unless you want to ride on busy roads. There are forest and hiking trails leading through the forest, but we sometimes had to carry our bikes and there are so many of them that you sometimes get lost. Mountain bikes with wide tires are better here.

Doksy is a beautiful place for trips, relaxation with and without children. The surroundings are beautiful, lots of greenery, swimming (unfortunately paid beaches), the best ice cream U Strnada, the nicest staff, absolutely professional - you have to stop here :)

Doksy itself is disappointing, a bit neglected, shop windows full of plastic things or ceramic gnomes don't add much of a "Máchov" atmosphere. However, the surrounding landscape is very picturesque (villages, half-timbered houses...), beautiful castles Bezděz, Kokořín...

Doksy and its surroundings are a beautiful place where everyone can choose, of course swimming in Mácha Lake, trips on easy terrain by bike, hiking tours to the Bezděz and Houska castles, or interesting places like the Králův stolec viewpoint. Inline skating lovers can visit the former Hradčany military airport and if you drive to the village of Zahrádky in the direction of Česká Lípa, I recommend a walk through the natural canyon Peklo.

The apartment is on the edge of Doksy, handy for the main beach at Machovo jezero and the railway station and a ten-minute walk from the town centre. It was well-equipped and comfortable, quiet at night and with a big garden that we didn't really use because we were out nearly all the time. It's a good base for exploring the area,

Had everything you could need on a short stay. Arrival and departure was facilitated by the owner making the whole process smooth. Underground garage for our car was great too.
Property was clean, modern, warm, comfortable and almost so good you didn’t want to go outside!
So close to all the great things Doksy has to offer.

We spent a night at Kemp Ahoj in Doksy, and it was such a lovely experience! The location is strategic — short walk from the lake, with easy access to nature and nearby activities, but still peaceful 😌
