CanadaOur children selected this place to celebrate my birthday. They couldn't have found a better place. The hotel is truly amazing. The location, out of town and close to the river, is beautiful. Everything speaks RELAX. The views either from the restaurant or from the room, the pool, and the SPA set the environment for a great stay.
The staff, especially Sonya and the General Manager are very welcoming, always there to help, and very hospitable. Upon reception, Sonya was ready to support our needs, she made sure that our room would be ready even if we arrived a little bit earlier and offered a welcome drink while we waited. She also provided an overview of the facilities and instructions on how to use the SPA. She gave us directions to town, where to park, and places to visit.
The room is beyond expectations, spacious, with a view of the river, and spotless. King-size bed and a fully equipped bathroom. A safe also that will be part of another story :)
We enjoyed the SPA. There are 5 different types of saunas, well-prepared, and clean: Jacuzzi and pool. Massage service is in place.
Now the Safe story. We had such a wonderful time and felt so relaxed that even though we always checked the room to avoid leaving anything behind, on this occasion we left our passports. We realized upon arrival at the airport, 2 hours away. After the shocking find, we called the hotel and both reception and the general manager took immediate care of the incident. They found our passports, negotiated transport, and in less than 2 hours we had our passports back. Talking with the general manager, the quick support we received kept our holidays still on track. What could have been a nightmare was a quick fixable event thanks to them. Muchas gracias from Costa Rica.

A wish came true!I spent my birthday at the Grandhotel Pupp and they made me feel special.They noticed it's my birthday and they surprised me with a cake in the room, sang me happy birthday.
The room was huge, verry clean, bed comfortable.
Hotel staff very well trained, friendly.Also they speak good english.
We felt we went back in time in this amazing building dated since 1700s.

we loved our stay. The hotel was beautiful and the wellness amenities were great. The best thing though, was our dining experience. I believe Denisa is the name of the woman who was taking care of us. She was wonderful, her service was spot on and she took care to remember our preferences. She provided the best dining service I've experienced. I highly recommend adding the meal option to your booking. We did and we're delighted to learn that on top of our breakfast buffet, we also got a three course lunch as well as a three course dinner. Highly rated this hotel

Springing Forth with Bohemian Elegance
Karlovy Vary owes its affluent grandeur to no fewer than 13 hot springs and a warm water river. Add to this its colourful façades and tree-lined hill setting, and it’s easy to see why it’s one of Europe’s most sophisticated spa towns.
The best views are from the Deer Leap and Diana Tower lookouts, both high above the Grandhotel Pupp, a famous 5-star hotel which starred as James Bond’s gambling retreat in ‘Casino Royale’. It also hosts an International Film Festival, but the city is really about the waters, a fact reflected in its English name – Carlsbad.
You can take the waters at the 5 springs under the Mill Colonnade, and the wrought-iron Market Colonnade houses 2 more. The Park Colonnade employs a similarly impressive style to protect 3 springs, while a geyser bursts up in the Hot Spring Colonnade. The Castle Tower overlooks the Castle Colonnade waters, and a thermal pool at Spa Hotel Thermal overlooks the city.
The beautiful churches of Karlovy Vary include the Russian-styled Church of St Peter and St Paul. The Moser Glassworks produce suitably high quality products, and the Jan Becher Museum provides an idea of what to fill them with – local Becherovka bitter.

Not cheap but attractive and elegant with rows of hotels and shops that are photogenic.16 spas and their different waters can be sampled.Old Town easily walkable.
Newer Upper Town and Rail Station much further away.
Affordable food and beer in the traditional beercellar restaurants.
Good excursion to medieval town and castle of Loket by bus.

It is very easy to get around Karlovy Vary.
It is very easy to get around Karlovy Vary. We been walking 20-24 000 steps a day discovering everyday something new.
We took all possible exursions and the one was more favorite was visiting Locket with perfect guide Yelena, she is terrifically good and knowlegebale with such a sense of humor !
Avoid restoran "Kolonada".The soup goulash in bread contained mostly pieces of potatoes and almost none of meat. The "vareniki"/dumplings with potato even don't try- they put them from the store pakage to boil and it taste so bad, sticky dough... In the end while we were asking the bill and waitress did not returned my change of 46 crowns because she saw that we could not eat anything beside borsh... Also my husband ordered the lamb steak with garlic sauce: he got so hard thin piece of fried ( and not grilled as annonced in the menu)meat with 2 small peices of garlic on it... Non tasty , no esthetically attractive- -"0" customer service . AVOID THIS PLACE in front of beautiful Colonada

The town is beautiful. There are ONLY TWO PUBLIC SPAS! Thermal Hotel (wish I highly recommend) and Elizabeth Spa. I spent two days trying to find the "Natural Hot Springs" to soak in. Finally, a man at a bar told me there are really only the two.
Information Center - there are signs all over the town directing you to the Information Center. Finding it is another thing. There is ONLY ONE, just past Hotel PUPP. This is the ONLY PLACE YOU CAN BUY A REGION CARD! The staff at the information center were very nice and polite. Here's the BUT, they answered every question you asked. BUT, if you didn't know the right question to ask, the information was not offered. This led to MANY trips back to the information center.
Region Card - not sure it's really worth it. First, there is not one place to sign up for any attractions (i.e. the underground, walking tours etc.). You have to call a number, which you need to ask for the brochure (see line above) that has the numbers. There is a two-day advance requirement to sign up for anything. For a short trip it just is to hard to do. If I come back, armed with this information, it will make the trip more enjoyable.

Very cute little town - scenic with beautiful buildings. We only stayed one night and would loved to have been there longer to really explore. We ate at one of the beer brewery restuarants around the corner from our accommodation and the food was delicious.

This is the central hotel of the Karlovy Vary, placed in the center and start of the pedestrian area. It has its own wellness and medical center with a large variality of treatments. If you want to have some, it is better to book them before arrival as it can happen there is no space left later. Also, hotel is directly connected with city's thermal pool and spa center "Saunia" and you have free entry for 2 hours a day. Hotel has large parking area and underground garage (both for fee). Personnel is polite and eager to help.

Very nice hotel on a very cool strip in Karlovy Vary. The pool and spa area is a nice size and seems bigger than the photos look. The steam room wasn't very hot. My girlfriend did some spa treatments and said it was fantastic. The room was very comfortable with air con. Breakfast was good. If you need to get a hotel to or from here it will need to be from the Karlovy Vary city theatre. Just a 2 minute walk across the bridge. Use bolt.

We really enjoyed our stay at the hotel Pension U Golfu Cihelny. The location was great for exploring Karlovy Vary and the area around. It's in a quiet and peaceful location. Our family room was very spacious (it was probably the biggest room we've ever had!). The staff was most friendly and very helpful. The breakfast selection was abundant. The hotel has a nice wellness area to relax. We would definitely recommend this hotel.

“Zamek Lužec Spa is a true gem nestled in the beautiful nature of Karlovy Vary. The location is breathtaking and perfect for a peaceful getaway. The spa is well-equipped and offers wonderful treatments that help you fully relax. The hotel staff are incredibly friendly, attentive, and make you feel truly special. I highly recommend this place – it’s somewhere you’ll definitely want to return to!”

Decent breakfast, staff was helpful.
Spacious room.
Paid parking right in front of the hotel building (not cheap though).
