UkraineThe hotel is perfect for resting from a big city. It might not be very easy to get to the village without a car, but as soon as you figure out how buses work, it’s perfect. The village is surrounded by fields, forests and mountains, it’s very close to famous places and wonderful hiking routes. The living conditions are very comfortable too. The breakfast was amazing! I would definitely choose it for my next visit!

It features the wellness area with sauna and the bier garden right next to the house. Our booking included breakfast which was very nice as well. It was in another location with the terrace outlooking the river. There was no Wi-Fi in the room, which is intentional, but you can catch free Wi-Fi in the restaurant and beer garden , if needed.
It was a very relaxing stay and we loved it! Thank you!

The access to walks and other things to do was excellent.
The access to walks and other things to do was excellent. You can get around on foot, bike, bus, ferry or train. Maps are helpfully provided. The tourist information staff are very knowledgeable and kind.
The therme is large and wasn’t too busy when we went (end September). Swimming outside in the sun and rain was a highlight, as was floating in the salty water of the music experience pool.
We ate in our hotel so can’t comment on the local restaurants, but there were several to choose from.
We visited the National Park Centre which was interesting, but mostly aimed at children. There wasn’t very much in English, so best if you can read German or Czech.
People were really kind.
It’s the first place I’ve been to where you arrive by train and immediately catch a ferry to get to town!

The location is beautiful.
The location is beautiful. However, it is absolutely unimaginable to visit it during the main tourist season in summer. The crowds there will absolutely demotivate you. You will be waiting on ladders everywhere.

Quaint little town with cosy feel, beautiful architecture and an easy access to hiking trails. Visitors centre can provide with all the equipment necessary for hiking. One thing worth minding is that all of the restaurants and bars close at 10pm so a late dinner is not an option (at least in early September)

Bad Schandea lovely area for older couples or young couples interested in walking, cycling or running as great paths alongside the river, transport free to surrounding villages with varied options of frequent transport ie ferry, trains, tram
and buses. Not much English speaking or menus available.

Alles was vorher bewertet war. The room was great, the people were very friendly and so helpful, and the sauna/pool/spa area was super. The only disappointment was that we set up a birthday dinner table (which happened) and a birthday breakfast table (which did not happen because people took our table and moved our number).

Lovely quiet town on the Elbe river.
Lovely quiet town on the Elbe river. Well connected with roads, publish transport including river ferries. Plenty to do and excellent excursions fronm the town, eg hiking, mountain biking. Good indoor pool incl. wellness / spa centre. You need to book restaurants for dinner in the high season. And by 9pm its quite quiet, so not a lot of night life!

We enjoyed a wonderful few days at Das Sigls. It provided the perfect base for some stunning walks around Bad Schandau. Our room was bright, simple and spotlessly clean. Downstairs there was a sitting area with complementary coffee and tea and facilities to warm and store food. We were given a very warm welcome on our arrival, the manager was friendly and super helpful throughout our stay. The hotel is well located for amenities in the town and local transport links.

The breakfast was amazing, inexpensive, and a great way to socialize with other travelers. Robin was an excellent host and went above and beyond to make sure the experience was a good one. Great for solo travelers, near hiking trails. Bathrooms were always clean, and the rooms were big and beds were comfortable. Literally 30-second walk to the beginning of hiking trails. Schmilka is a ferry and train ride from Bad Schandau, but it's very manageable.
