GermanyWe really enjoyed our long weekend stay at Hotel Wessel. The hosts were lovely and caring. They found time to chat with us and made us feel like family. They greeted us with a glass of local beer. The guesthouse and the restaurant were nicely decorated with interesting antique items. Almost like being in a museum! The facilities were clean and comfortable. Local specialties served. The room had everything you might possibly need during your stay. The breakfast was delicious.

MexicoHonestly almost everything was perfect. Staff was so nice, they let us hang in the hotel for hours once we were done with the city and were waiting for the train (which was delayed), very friendly all of them and always provided good recommendations.
Breakfast was awesome and totally worth the price, really nice buffet to grab energy for the day. The room was nice and clean with everything you need. Facilities are fancy, specially for the price its surprisingly elegant and clean.
Location is pretty good, there are metro stations nearby and is in a nice area, close to some relevant stores and nice places.

Beautiful city, however, I think a 1-night trip is enough if you just want to see the city. We flew in on Friday evening and out on Sunday night, but we feel we would have been happy leaving on Saturday night. Please remember that most shops and other places don't open on Sundays, so we were walking around trying to find things to do. I highly recommend climbing the cathedral tower if you are able. Walking through this city was amazing! I felt like I was walking inside a fairytale storybook. Everywhere I turned there was something else to see. From museums to plazas, restaurants, shopping, coffee shops, street food vendors, and ancient history. So much ancient history! The city has a mixture of medieval and neo-gothic architecture, right next to modern new buildings. A sight to see! The river really gives the city a nice vibe. The streets smell like a mixture of international foods, but my favorite was the smell of cinnamon from fresh crepes and waffles being served just about everywhere. In the evening, the plazas filled up with people walking their dogs or families with small children running around and sharing their laughter. It is a very vibrant, welcoming and friendly city. There are plenty of traditional brewery pubs with character ie Fruh, Gaffels Kolsh, Malzmuhle, Reissdorf. Very good atmosphere for beer drinkers. Very picturesque walking alongside the River Rhine at one of its widest points.
