United StatesThe hotel staff were incredibly welcoming, helpful, and kind. We were traveling by bicycle and the luggage transfer service delivered our bags to the wrong town. They volunteered to drive us to collect our bags, saving us a 1+ hour train trip! Dinner at the restaurant was also amazing. Highly recommend; one of the best meals we had in Germany.

There's not much going on in Müden itself.
There's not much going on in Müden itself. No bakery, no supermarket, no restaurants open all day. At least there's a wine vending machine from a local vintner. It's a good and quiet starting point for hikes or excursions in the surrounding area. Having your own vehicle is recommended; alternatively, there's a train station.

Müden itself isn't very interesting.
Müden itself isn't very interesting. I chose this location as a base for visits to Cochem and Burg Eltz. Amenities can be found in nearby villages. If you want easier access to shops and restaurants, you'd be better off looking for a hotel in another town, such as Cochem.

No shops, few other amenities. It was an uninviting town. It's a good thing Cochem was only 13 km away; at least there was something to do there. Perhaps suitable for hikers and/or cyclists.

Public transport is good, the station is within walking...
Public transport is good, the station is within walking distance, and there's a bus stop. We ate in Treis and Karden (3 km). You can hike, mountain bike, and cycle along the Moselle. Müden has few restaurants and cafes, no terraces, and no shops.

Müden is unfortunately pretty dead.
Müden is unfortunately pretty dead. The only restaurant was in our accommodation, and although there are still a few wineries, we as a couple didn't manage to do a wine tasting. It's only for groups. It's okay as a base for hiking and cycling tours.

Unfortunately, there isn't much to do in Muden itself, but it's a perfect starting point for exploring the surrounding towns of Cochem, Koblenz, Traben-Trarbach, Beilstein – too many to mention – and for hiking.
