The apartment itself was modern yet authentic, clean and incredibly pleasant. We had a balcony where we could see hills and some of Moselle which was just a cherry on top. Nice and spacious apartment, very friendly host. Our dog was very welcome as well! Furniture is quite outdated but does make the place feel cozy. Place was pretty cool despite it having been 30 degrees the days before (the day itself it was like 24 or 25 degrees).

The personal touch the owners give when youre staying there is amazing. My mom joined last minute, which wasnt a problem at all. At the dinner reservation they put down a little sign with mother and daughter and our last name. They were always happy and joyful and always had time for a little personal chat. It's lovely to see that it's a real family owned business.
Ow and the food was amazing! Im a picky eater, however everything was really tasteful.

Treis-Karden is a good base to go hiking.
Treis-Karden is a good base to go hiking. The hiking trail to Burg Eltz was very nice, I did the black route. The last part is the heaviest part. I went to the viewing point of the castle and then went back. I did that because there is an entrance fee that you have to pay for the castle, even if you just want to order food and drinks.
In the afternoon I went to Mörsdorf to visit the Geierlay hanging bridge, which was awesome. Note that the bus (line 746) does not go there every hour and that the line is not currently on Google Maps. So search online for the schedule or visit the tourist office in the train station. During my stay the buses ran from the water-side of the station instead of the official bus stop, so double check if that is the case for you.
Both these things could have been their own day, since there are more hiking trails available in both places.

This is a perfect base for exploring the Mosel river valley.
This is a perfect base for exploring the Mosel river valley. With 2-3 days to find all the sites up and down the river, from Trier, up river, or downriver to Cochem, every little town is worth a stop. The owner of this B & B is very helpful, friendly, and proud of her 16th century home.

I visited in early Nov. probably the visiting pick is already off (ie. no ship stop already). Treis-Karden has train station which almost all the trains from Koblenz to Trier stops (only 4-5 big stop, Treis-Karden is likely among them).
Beautiful small town with slow speed and very local way of living. After sunset people go back to home. ^ ^
To Eltz burg, from Trees-Karden is possible. there is a burg bus (not so often). It is about 5-6 km, also walkable (200-300m up) with very nice view of Mosel valley.

The location is very convenient for a stop when cycling along the Mosel.
The quality of the hotel was a lovely surprise. It is very comfortable and the room was also lovely.
The pool was a welcome treat after a long cycle in the heat.
We ate at the restaurant in the evening and had breakfast and both were very good.

This is the second time we stop at this hotel on our way home. Very good and practical design of the room: layout, furniture new , night table at the bed, enough extra-sockets near the bed, clean and nice decorated rooms. Big size of the room and bathroom with large windows to be able to see Mosel river(a bit)

Family run hotel in a convenient location for touring the Mosel valley and close to at least two "Weinguts". Within a few minutes walk of the river. It was good to be able to eat dinner at the Pension, which has a nice menu. Friendly and helpful staff. Comfortable beds. Secure bike storage available.
