PolandExcellent stay. Located in the old city in the heart of Wernigerode. Beautiful place and building. Rooms are cozy and spacious, nicely designed. Very well renovated. Breakfast was very good with lots of things to choose from, freshly prepared eggs. We would recommend and come back for sure.

DenmarkHotel was nice, the room pretty small. Had a room with two beds but there was not room enough to make space between them, so they were just one big bed. The check-in took forever compared to every hotel I have tried, as they needed a lot of information to rent out a parking spot. Plus city tax was added to the hotel fee and had to be paid in cash. The restaurant had the fastest service on the other hand almost ninja fast 🥷 Breakfast was everything I could imagine, there was even wine chilling next to the milk!

United KingdomThe staff were all very helpful and friendly. Most spoke good English which helped us poor German speakers. Our room was spotlessly clean and full of character. It had a great view of the castle and a lovely balcony.
Breakfast was really good quality, it was served to the table in a classically decorated dining room. i.e. not a buffet.
The hotel is only a short walk into town an ideal location for walking in the countryside.
Overall an exceptional hotel in our view.

AustraliaFamily room was big, cozy and comfortable. Loved the added touch of a Christmas tree in our room. Highly recommended for a family (we travelled with teenagers and it was perfect). Breakfast was good, including the usual cold meat and cheese spread and crispy bacon. Only a 10 minute walk to the city centre and an amazing view of the local castle. Book it!

GermanyThe hotel is not only perfectly located (opposite the Rathaus and on the marketplace), it also has a large parking (both inside and outside). The staff was extremely nice and helpful. The breakfast buffet was a highlight by uts quality and variety. The restaurant was excellent as well.
Our room was large (family) and quiet, the bathroom as large and with enough towels for everyone and more.
The facilities were very clean,
We had a wonderful stay at the Weißer Hirsch and we're very happy with our choice of hotel and city. Wernigerode is absolutely charming.

English is not common, especially in restaurant or their menus, so sometimes difficult for non-German speakers. Great place to visit Harz Mountains hiking areas and the Titan-RT suspension bridge and Dam and the Wendefurth reservoir for boating. Wernigerode is a beautiful city, easy to get around as mainly flat. Wonderful medieval architecture, good shops, nice people, good restaurants,. There is a castle - currently having work done but that’s ok we’ve been before. Easy access to other gems like Quedlinburg and Goslar - we used the bus. The Harz National Park is great for exploring if you have your car too - and a trip on the steam train up to The Brocken is worth doing. A very pleasant town, with very many shops, cafes, hotels...
A very pleasant town, with very many shops, cafes, hotels and restaurants. It is a 15 minute walk from the station, and if you are getting there by train after 8.30 you will probably struggle to get a taxi. We stayed at the Ringhotel Weisser Hirsch which was very pleasant, comfortable and central. Wiecker coffee house with fabulous cakes on the square is ok, but always very busy. There are equally good coffee shops in town with cakes that are just as good. There is a very good Italian restaurant almost next door to the Wiecker, but having said that there are always plenty of good Italian restaurants in Germany. The town is flat and streets are cobbled but pavements are good. A very good place to stay if you want to go on the Harz Mountain Railway. However, it is quite expensive, although good value for money, to do the return trip to Brocken, the highest peak, and it takes nearly two hours each way. The castle is a must for the town.
The castle is a must for the town. The old town is also very good, especially around the market square. Old town does have some new mixed in, plus buildings in need of repair. Beautiful place…a hidden secret!
Beautiful place…a hidden secret! Buildings full of character, and new houses built in a similar style. It was clean and full of bars, restaurants, brass sculptures, wine bars and of course the castle and steam trains! We discovered the road train to get up to the castle which was great since you can’t park up there. Everyone was lovely and we walked miles just exploring cobbled streets.
