AustraliaExciting experience and stay at this fancy hotel. Santiago warmly welcomed me at arrival and showed me everything I need to know and use on my room. Sharon from the receptionist area made me feel safe while teaching me how to get to the nearest metro station and informing me how to stay alert on the street. Breakfast was amazing spread and allow you to take it slow over more than 2 hours.
Hotel bar serves decent food and cocktail. It could get pretty cold overnight even with heater on, so get ready with warm pyjamas.

I had a wonderful experience at this hotel and would absolutely recommend it to others. The location is superb, offering beautiful views and easy access to everything you might need. The property itself is stunning – well-maintained, stylish, and with a truly charming atmosphere.
The rooms were lovely, very clean, and comfortable, with hot water and excellent water pressure – a small but important detail that made a big difference. The breakfast was delicious with a wide variety, and the overall ambiance of the hotel was warm and welcoming.
What really stood out was the amazing staff – incredibly helpful, kind, and professional. From check-in to check-out, the service was flawless. The management deserves special praise for running such a well-organized and guest-focused property.

GreeceThe staff is kind and willing to help us. At check in we had a problem with the price because the booking showed a different price and at the hotel they asked us for extra money but luckily the hotel manager came and we paid what the application said. A very kind gentleman and smiling.
At breakfast there was an abundance of food, juices and coffees. The rooms were extremely clean and every two days we had new towels. From my room I had a view of the street and the mountain of Quito. I would definitely stay there again!!

Quito is a vibrant, active and accessible city. It is well maintained and has an excellent public transportation system. There is plenty to see and do in the Centro Historico as well as the more modern areas near the parks farther north. Take a chance on a 3 course 3 dollar lunch that can be found all over.

Quito is a beautiful city beyond the historic center.
Quito is a beautiful city beyond the historic center. It is also a friendly and safe city even for a woman traveling by herself.
Some of my favorite spots were Centro Histórico, Panecillo, Parque Carolina, Casa Museo Guayasamin and the Capilla del Hombre. Below are some photos of the Capilla del Hombre which shows Guayasamin's works.
The metro and affordable taxis and Ubers make it easy and safe to explore the city.
Viator and Get Your Guide provide some fun activities for solo travelers. I recommend the following day tours: Quilotoa, Otovalo, and Cotopaxi.

Stepping into the historic district of Quito is like walking into a living, breathing work of art. The narrow streets are alive with energy, and the sidewalks are a bustling stage for a constant parade of people. Every corner reveals breathtaking architecture and a symphony of sights and sounds, from the buzzing taxis to the high-quality live music🎶
Small cafeterias offer incredible meals, and the Desayuno Completo - Complete Breakfast is a true feast. It's easy to find fresh fruits, vegetables, and rich Ecuadorian chocolate. Around every corner, you'll find unique arts and crafts, and if you're lucky, a random pop-up parade will add to the magic. "Vibrant" doesn't even begin to cover it—Quito's historic district is a sensory explosion that you have to experience to believe.

Staff was always there to assist with luggage, questions, and arranging transportation. Buffet breakfast was fresh, delicious, well prepared and displayed. Room was clean and comfortable.
I highly recommend this hotel while visiting Quito.

Take time to acclimate due to the elevation.
Take time to acclimate due to the elevation. There is a lot of up hill walking in the historic district. You can take the bus as there is good public transport. Also, Quito town is higher than the airport. Airport is very modern and well laid out.

Chakana was a wonderful hotel. The staff were super friendly, the breakfasts were delicious and the rooms so spacious and well designed. The bathrooms were great too. They also stored our luggage for two weeks while we traveled around Ecuador. Would definitely stay three again.

Wonderful newer hotelly, nicely styled. Excellent staff, Dennis at the front + Obi Wan the hotel dog were favorites of ours. Amazing rooftop view of Quito, great location to Old Town - would recommend + will stay here again when we return to Quito!

Perfect place to stay in Quito. Staff really friendly and can help with organising tours/ activities you might want to do in Ecuador. Rooftop restaurant is really nice with amazing views of Quito. Felt very safe here.
