Sweeping around a sandy bay backed by mountains, the fishing port of Roses has become one of the most popular Costa Brava resorts. This was partly due to El Bulli, one of the world’s best restaurants, which once graced a neighbouring village.
Although that restaurant serves no more, the town still has plenty of eateries and bars offering some of the area’s top nightlife. Some are by the long promenade whose palm trees are beautifully silhouetted at sunset. Around the Bay of Roses the headland becomes more rugged and the beaches more cove-like. In the opposite direction is large Roses marina, although the one in next door Empuriabrava is huge.
Watersports are very popular here and include diving and windsurfing. The Aqua Brava waterpark has a host of slides, rapids and a wave pool, and other entertainment includes karting and minigolf.
Above the southern end of town, overlooking the lighthouse, sit the star-shaped ruins of 16th-century Castell de la Trinitat. On the other side of Roses is the Ciutadella, a much larger site containing Greek and Roman remains and partly surrounded by medieval walls. Even older are the Creu d’en Corbertella megalithic structures, one of which is the largest in Catalonia.
The Roses accommodation on Booking.com includes boutique hotels with pools, beachfront apartments and luxury villas.

The town of Roses is walkable with lots of cafes, restaurants, and shops. The locals are very nice. They seemed to like it when we spoke some Spanish with them (but it wasn't necessary). Nice grocery stores, as well.

We stayed in Canyelles, a small town next to roses. A little bit more intimate than roses, although if you want to really go out roses is right there. A lot (to much) of roundabouts on the way to firgueras, but apart from that easy to reach.

Wide variety of dining places, but a lot serving the same stuff. Had a great meal in TXots and El cellar can roca( not in Roses). Nice to be able to sit and dine in the beach too , in town. Was very busy day and night, and lots of places you have to pay for parking . Was a much larger resort than I anticipated.
Karen and her daughter were wonderful, gracious hosts! The home, location and views are wonderful. I slept in, but my husband loved the continental breakfast and Gabriella kindly packaged delicious baked goods for me to take away in the mornings. Also very convenient to be able to park our car safely behind the gate on the property. Karen also had great recommendations on things to do and great restaurants. Lovely stay all the way around!
The breakfast was nice, in the form of a buffet. You can easily find something for everyone. The hotel is right next to a beach. The standard double room was clean and bright, however only after we had our room exchanged. In the beginning, they gave us a very small room below the standard we paid for, with one bed that was too small for two people. The window was pointing towards another window and because of that the room was very dark.
Location and area was fantastic and exactly what we wanted as a family.
Steps steps and more steps so not good for very young children / push chair and people with mobility issues.
Beach was nicer and we preferred slightly outside roses which is what you get with this property.
Apartment was a good size and with 5 people seemed larger than expected when we booked due to the outside balconies on each level
Hotel is directly on boulevard, so no busy street in between as is in many other locations in Roses. Room was on side of building with sweeping view of Roses and beach. Nice trip to Dali-house in Port Lligat and sturdy walk of about 20km through bit of wilderness back, with lots of birds and snake if you are lucky. Catamaran trip to cape and underwater world was enjoying.
Location was great in front of the beach and close to many stores and restaurants and to go for a walk around the town. The staff very nice and smiling all the time which made us feel good and they answered all our questions. If We visit Roses again will stay here again. We got a room with a balcony and partially view to the beach and the street( was not noisy).
We had the top floor of the hotel which was a 3 bedroom apartment with two bathrooms and it was spacious with an enormous balcony overlooking the beach. Plenty of space inside the apartment for two couples. Even though the hotel is on a busy street there was no noise inside the apartment. The breakfast was also pretty good.
The property's location is its main highlight, being very close to the beach and numerous restaurants. I had the pleasure of spending a night there with my family, and we thoroughly enjoyed our time. Additionally, the convenience of paid parking available right in front of the hotel added to the ease of our stay.
Spacious room with a view over Roses and the other side of the bay. We.could see for miles!
The restaurant serves a buffet with acceptable food and reasonably priced wine. There was even a flamenco show on Saturday night in the bar. Parking was easy, right next to the hotel.
The location was just perfect. And the staff was always helpful.
The room was comfortable and spacious, with a small balcony where to relax after walking in the city. Very close to all the amenities, beach, restaurants...
I will definitely stay in this hotel again.
Loved the hotel. Friendly staff. Super comfy large beds. Sea view was gorgeous. Only thing to highlight was the parking! Drive round for a while but did eventually park. This is the norm in roses bay but don’t let this out you off! Hotel made up for it.
This hotel is located in a great spot. Can walk to everything! The staff was nice and the live entertainment was also fun. The breakfast was also okay. Had something for everyone. Restaurants and beach within walking distance.
We had a room with a sea view, and it was beautiful. We chose to stay in Roses in order to easily visit Cadaques, Cap de Creus, Figueres, and Girona. The location was perfect.
One of the best hotels I have stayed at. Gorgeous views, excellent service, specious room. Did not eat at the hotel so cannot comment on dinning but breakfast was delicious.
