If you want a very relaxing stay, here is the perfect place, far from the noisy towns, just nature and some beautifully designed interiors where you can stay and read or whatever you want to do.
If you are an active traveller, it is also the perfect place if you came by car. The location is 10 minutes from Tarifa and less than 15 from Algeciras. You can easily get to ferries for Tangier or Ceuta or to Gibraltar.
Good food in the restaurant, breakfast, lunch and dinner, open until 11 PM. They have a delicious sangria.
Their greatest advantage is the high level of quality vs. price.

Chose this hotel for our two days in Tarifa.
Wonderful staff with recommendations of where to eat and what to see.
Spent fantastic time at the pool beds, joined yoga in the morning.
This hotel is next to other of Q hotels, that had not had so good reviews, but we could use the facilities of the other hotel as well - the infinity pool bar was nice as well.
Asked for a king bed, but as hotel was full it was not available, but on next morning the staff gave as french style matress - thanks for the service.
Loved the spacious rooms and stone / wood design.
Exceptional breakfast.

PortugalWe loved everything about this hotel. It’s not the first time we have been to the Hurricane, tho it’s been many years since we last visited. With many good changes in the interim, it’s a delightful place to spend time, and the staff are all friendly, accommodating and welcoming. The food is wonderful, very tasty. The gardens are lush, tropical and beautiful. The hotel is welcoming to dogs, too, as we were able to bring our dog, and she slept in the boys’ room on her bed from home.

The location is excellent.
The location is excellent. The room was a good size and it was clean. We only stayed for one night and it was perfect. The ladies at reception were very helpful and one gal even drove with my husband to show him where the indoor parking was.

Wonderfully relaxed stay.
Wonderfully relaxed stay. Felt very safe wandering around on my own. Great beach. Lots of great places to eat and drink. Lovely evening vibe, eating alfresco with live Spanish guitarist playing. Wonderful shopping too.

Tarifa is a unique, quirky relaxing experience.
Tarifa is a unique, quirky relaxing experience. Lots of shops for mooching about in. An endless supply of restaurants and bars and bistros. You just have to get yourself out there and start exploring, you will soon create your own favourites! Prices range from high cost fine dining to excellent Mediterranean to delicious burgers n chips.
We pretty much walked everywhere, you don't need your car until you are ready to leave!

We've been to Tarifa many times and now have a circle of friends there that seems to grow with each visit. Although a kitesurf attraction and to some extent a party town it is also a proper town with facilities for the residents. A proper taste of Spain.

Love staying in the old medina of Tarifa.
Love staying in the old medina of Tarifa. Handy for an enormous array of tapas bars, cafes and restaurants. Loads of souvenir shops along the narrow streets. Los Lances can be windy but that's good if you like kite surfing and chicas beach on the Mediterranean side is sheltered.
15 minutes walk to the bust station for links all round spain.

Everything. The host was easy to keep in touch with by what's app and very accommodating and hospitable. We were able to park the car in the parking before the check in time so could arrive earlier and make the most of our day. The location is excellent! Just outside the entrance to the old town. You can walk to everything. The apartment is great- for 4 people it is big enough, clean and well kept. When we next return to Tarifa we will use it again.

Everything in the hotel, the room, café and shop is decorated with a lovely touch. The owner, Emilia, is a very friendly and heartfelt person!
The location is also perfect in the center of the old town.
Public parking is always available nearby (with a bit of waiting time), approx. 5 minutes away.
Next time we are in Tarifa, we will gladly stay again at Vagamundos!
