NetherlandsI stayed at ibis Styles Montpellier Centre Comédie for about a week while traveling for work, and I had a great experience. The room was nicely sized, clean, and comfortable — I never felt cramped, even during a longer stay.
The location is fantastic, just a block from the city center, which made getting around super easy. The staff were incredibly friendly and always happy to help, which made the stay even more pleasant.
Overall, I really enjoyed my stay and would happily return the next time I’m in Montpellier.

Transportation via bus and tram is very easy, and the weather is lovely during the winter since I like rains. The people here are friendly and welcoming. However, I had a poor experience using the website to buy a tram ticket. I paid 20 Euros online, but due to a poor connection, I never received the ticket—even though the money was deducted from my bank account. I contacted the transport company regarding this issue, but I have not yet received a response.

Montpellier is great for short or longer breaks. Always plenty to see or do. The old town brims & buzzes with a tempting choice of cafes, bars & independent restaurants to suit all budgets, of usually excellent quality. Also an amazing choice of beautiful boutiques, fashion, good old fashioned toy & game shops etc. all housed in ancient stone buildings.
Recommend Tomate Resto on Rue St Anne. Cosy, 3 course menu €25, individual dishes from €17.
Fish & vegetarian options . All home cooked & delicious.

What an amazing city.
What an amazing city. Wonderful old city with many sites that are easily reached if you have only a short time. Christmas market was delightful, popular food and beverage stalls and gifts at the craft stalls.
Felt safe in the crowds, good security.
Wonderful little alleys to discover shops, cafes.

A cute city, super walkable with some hills (good excuse for a workout before eating), many options for restaurants and bars, getting around is easy with the tram lines and buses but it was easy for me to walk around to explore the city as well.

Gorgeous city which is so easy to walk around. The little streets are an utter delight. À huge variety of options to choose from for lunch or dinner. Lots of bars and cafes, and lots of things to explore. It’s also easy to do day trips by train.

Lovely city to visit, just go and try. There was an amazing open market to explore (Tuesday) and we found some great places to eat. Only stayed a couple of nights, I would recommend 3 or 4.
We traveled on Interrail and took a train direct from Paris Lyon to Montpellier Sud de France. It’s was fast about 3 hours. The station is out of town but we discovered that they are opening up a new line (Oct 2025) to link up with Montpellier station itself so you can change and not take a taxi or try you luck with a bus that could take 45mins. That’s going to make a huge difference.

This was an excellent hotel - just what we wanted for a single night. The room was probably the best we had stayed in during a 3 week road trip to France and Spain. The breakfast on the outdoor terrace was just so nice and the parking was under the hotel with easy access. We would stay here again

Nice hotel on the outskirts of Montpellier. Small but nice pool, very good restaurant and a comfortable room. Not the biggest but definately good enough for 2 people. A/C kept the room nice and cool too. Free underground parking. Bus to the city centre just a 5 minute walk away.
