Really liked Quimper. It's a beautiful city.
Really liked Quimper. It's a beautiful city. There is a rich heritage, many old houses, half-timbered houses, pedestrian and shopping streets. The cathedral is monumental, original with its two towers of the 19th and its choir off-center.
I went to multiple spots/beaches close to Quimper:
1. Phare d'Eckmühl
2. Plage la Torche-Tronoën
3. Pont-l'Abbé
4. Quimper itself.

A very beautiful city, superb streets.
A very beautiful city, superb streets. Worth going to see the pottery museum and exhibition of Breton life. We were disappointed that the exhibition of fine arts was closed for renovation, but a good reason to return to the town when it reopens.
The height of the tourist season, the restaurants were extremely busy, too many creperies and taco bars and not enough regular restaurants.
More beggars than we are used to, but a few good street musicians as well.
The tourist map of town was very useful, obtainable at the tourist information office, but we couldn't find a bigger map showing more of the town and its immediate environment, apart from the OS map. Difficult to find cycle routes around and out of town.
The free events in the bishop's garden behind the cathedral were fun.

We could return to Quimper again and again: there are a multitude of incredible restaurants and shops, it's easy to navigate and completely walkable. And a short bus or taxi ride to the waterfront, as well as river cruises, museums, cultural heritage tours, concerts ... we've been a few times now, and once again there was way more to do than we had time for!

Liked Quimper town, a nice shopping location and good restaurants. Loved Concarneau and Bénodet. Didn’t like Brest although there were lots of roadworks in the centre.

It was quiet and early in the season so the Musée de Faience...
It was quiet and early in the season so the Musée de Faience was closed, other museums were available and very interesting. The Art Gallery is being re-built, opening in 2 years. Good range of restaurants, but the best for us was L'Identité, 9 Rue Sainte Catherine.

Nice little city, enjoyed the old part of the city centre, some good independent shops. Usual museums, cathedral there was nothing outstanding
To make us stay longer than the one night though to be fair only stopped off as it was en route of our road trip.

This is a truly exceptional place to stay. The flat is spacious, incredibly clean, comfortable and attractive, plus all the things you need to function - kitchen, bathroom etc, do so extremely well. We stayed in various places during our trip to France and this one outshone the rest by a long way. The hosts really go above and beyond to be helpful, generous and kind, recommending things to see and do in the area, and stocking the fridge with home made cider and apple juice. Highly recommend.

Cozy space well laid out. Lovely garden to relax in. Short drive to central Quimper. Nice to have little cakes, kettle and coffee. Great shower. The downstairs kitchenette was very good. Access to clothes washing. Our car was securely parked on the property behind a gate. The owner was super helpful and friendly and spoke English. Had information about the area and shampoo in the shower which we appreciated.

Nice hotel located just near the Gare SNCF and Bus terminal. About 10 minutes walk to the city center but many people come to Quimper to see and visit places around so it is convinient to have a place near train/bus stations. Very good and quiet place, nice spacious rooms, clean bathroom. Nice breakfast.
Staff is very friendly and willing to help.

The breakfast was more than ample for me: juice, yoghurt, fresh fruit, boiled egg, croissant and other bread, coffee. The location is a very quiet, at the end of a street. Access with Quimper's one way streets is a little tricky.

This hotel was pleasant. Our room was spacious, quiet and comfortable. Breakfast was good. For us, the best thing about the hotel was the location, which was placed right next to the old centre of Quimper.
