Very disappointing night at this hotel would avoid at all costs. Stayed in room 1014 and was kept awake by the sound of a waste water pump constantly running. When complaining to staff on checkout I was inform this would be taken care of and an amount would be refund back to my account. This never happened! It’s not about the money I just wanted to have a place to sleep and not be kept awake by the sound of faulty equipment and plumbing.

I never imagined a major town in South Wales could be so run down. I checked out of the accomodation a day early and found myself in the High Street around 0830. I had an hour or so here before my train out of town and I saw nothing of interest to a visitor.

First time in Wales for me.
First time in Wales for me. Everywhere we went met with friendly people. Even the girl in Next chatted while serving me and laughed with me about my day.Family meal (14 of us) at TGF. Made welcome and served with a smile all evening.
Coffee shops also had staff interested in our stories.
Pity we live in Perth with 8 hour drive as liked people and places and a return trip maybe when newlyweds have family

The room was good, the pool was out of commission which spoiled the weekend because that made the jacuzzi impossible to gain entrance to due to the amount of people being let down on the pool. Food was perfect.

we were down for a Bridge Congress so not involved with sightseeing.
We walked in to Maindee for a meal on Sat evening, expecting a better selection than we found....but an interesting Caribbean Restaurant ( a bit more like a cafe really) but the food was OK and freshly prepared and the price was reasonable
We've been staying at The Parkway for the past twenty years or so. With family nearby in Cwmbran, Pontypool and Newport, this hotel provides an excellent home from home. A fiftieth birthday in 2022 and many bookings for the Autumn Internationals and the Six Nations (ticket price being affordable!) over this time, we always look forward to visiting.
The rogue chickens in the car park are always good value. The staff are helpful, attentive and know what to do if you have any concerns.
Very clean and a lovely sized room. Bathroom was excellent, bath and shower superb. The hotel itself is very nice, attached to the main hotel. Pretty surroundings and well organised. Didn't eat there, but a few choices available and a tad pricey, looked good.
It was a last minute treat for myself so splashed out a bit rather than my usual level of accommodation.. (cheap and cheerful!)
The manor house is grand.
Cleaning staff very friendly and helpful.
Excellent breakfast, superb staff, interesting building with sympathetic renovation. Will be going back as soon as we can and taking our family. We were given the WiFi code when we checked in, the hotel is in a great location with a cycle/walking route that goes to Newport. Two museums within walking distance and a historic walk around the village. Lovely outside seating area with well kept gardens
The Holiday Inn Express near the M4 in Newport may not offer anything extraordinary, being a typical Express Hotel. The reception is friendly and the bedrooms are clean. However, the evening meal menu is basic and slightly overpriced for the quality, while breakfast seems to use low-quality produce. It's a decent stopover option at a reasonable price, but don't anticipate anything exceptional.
Walls had dirty marks, cracks in the bathroom sink the boulder cushion on the bed had a stain, balcony was covered in algae, breakfast was nothing like it was 10yrs ago , was like a premier Inn, standards have definitely gone down here to point we won't ever come back, better valued hotels with a wow factor on the market now ,
The hotel looks quite charming from the outside with the flowers the little chickens running around freely it was quite cute and def had it's charm
breakfast was good as well - good facilities the pool and jacuzzi was great and was really awesome you could take a swim after a very very hot day nothing more refreshing
Lovely staff at reception
Room was perfect for me as a solo traveler seeing friends and family post covid and just needing a place to rest for the night.
Plenty of options for places to eat as it dead center of Newport near the train station
The hotel itself was great- room was basic but clean and comfortable. Lady on reception was very helpful by partnering us with someone to share taxi with to Newport Station and sorted out our transport.
Bustling hotel having recently gone through and extensive refurb
Good bar - large screens for sports
Well fitted out rooms with toiletries
Generous buffet breakfast - central location in Newport
Well I have to say I’m impressed for a budget hotel , clean room, super comfy beds , air con , black out blind , tv , coffee making facilities what’s not to love. Fab breakfast all good
Clean, modern, inviting. Rooftop bar and restaurant was lovely. Bed was so comfortable. Lovely little touches with pictures of Newport and Welsh tea bags. Gorgeous hotel!
