FAQs about hotels in Athens

A Dynamic City with 3400 Years of History

With the Acropolis as the jewel in the archaeological crown of Athens, this city is full of history whilst embracing the future. Take a stroll back in time through the neoclassical streets of the Plaka, where you will find tavernas serving tantalising souvlaki and mousaka, street vendors and live entertainment.

A trip to the Parthenon and the Agora top most lists and can also be appreciated from a distance by walking along the Dionysiou Aeropagitou street, which is away from the busy crowds downtown.

Changing the guard occurs every hour on the famous Syntagma Square. From here Ermou Street provides shopaholics with a fashionable retail sanctuary. The up-market districts of Kolonaki and Kifisia are also bursting with fancy boutiques, galleries and bars.

Athens contains some of the finest museums in the world such as the National Archaeological, Acropolis and Benaki Museums. From Athens International Airport to the Port of Piraeus, this is a city bustling with the old and new. On Booking.com you can find everything from modern hotels to a room in a classical building.

Wonderful city.

Wonderful city. Food was fantastic, hotel was wonderful, people were very friendly, and all the activities/ruins/historical sights were exceptional. Great place to visit. Can't wait to return.

Our visit was in October and just about right to take advantage of more temperate weather (in the mid 70's each day, with 1 day of drizzle) and fewer tourists (although we balked at the queue to see the Acropolis Museum and went to get coffee while our son pressed on and had a great time). If you enjoy exploring the history of places, you just about can't get any better than Athens and Crete. We bookended a weeklong stay in Chania, Crete with 11 days in Athens and got out and about every day and STILL didn't get to see everything we had hoped to see.

The regular restaurants are great.

The regular restaurants are great. The ancient stuff is awesome. The sea is a close by. The people are friendly and helpful. You don't need to speak Greek, a little English is fine. The music and cultural events are numerous. Plan ahead and see a band you love, they all stop there. I've been often.

Being on foot around Athens was very relaxed and I felt safe. The worst was when I had to drive in Athens and the huge number of motor bikes of all shapes and sizes that weave in and out of all lines of cars….as a driver, you have to be so very careful and lucky to avoid accidents.

Athens is a very welcoming city with all the sites you have have heard of and expect. It can get a bit crowded at times but it is possible to see the attractions without the crowds with some planning.

This is my third time staying in this Hotel and I'm satisfied evertime! It will always be my preferred accommodation when visiting Athens. The location is excellent, close to everything important: Monastiraki, Acropolis, Plaka, Syntagma, metro station, restaurants, supermarket, etc. The metro in Monastiraki Square,5 minutes away by foot, takes you straight from and to the airport and the Piraeus port,so very conveniently located. The staff was very helpful and even stored my bag for a few hours after checking out.

Our room was clean and well provided for with products and a desk was available to complete some work. Our bed was comfortable and our room quiet. This large older style hotel has many corridors and our room overlooked an outdoor space. The food quality and price was excellent with a great respresentation of some of the best wines from multiple regions in Greece. We enjoyed tasting these wines with good food.

By far the best hotel we stayed on our trip in Greece. Great location, beautiful and clean rooms. High quality amenities such body lotions, face masks. Everything environmental friendly. Very fresh brekkie. But the best about this hotel is the staff. They are all beyond kind and super helpful. Definitely we will be back.

The pink lemon hotel is well looked after and a clean place to stay. It's very quiet and in a good location with a short walk to the market. It's about a half hour walk to the ancient Greece Acropolis area of the plaka neighborhood. Very friendly and helpful staff
