The property and its location are truly outstanding, particularly for those wanting a detox from their busy day-to-day life. Whether it was watching the sunrise over the panoramic landscape to the east, or watching 20 Griffon Vultures circling for ages over the valley, it was a balm to the soul. Eleni and Babis are excellent hosts and the breakfast and dinners that can be ordered (the day before) are extremely good. They have a lovely story about the how the idea for the property came about - but I’ll let them tell you that! Their love for the land they have farmed for generations is palpable.

It was a brilliant stay from start to finish. The space, the hosts, the scenery, the tavern and the food - everything was top-notch. We arrived on Monday evening to Thanasis’s (the host on duty) welcoming smile which made us feel right at home. At dinner and then breakfast the following morning, and every morning and evening of our stay, not only were his attentiveness and care amazing, but the food and variety on offer was exquisite. Two days in, Nikos took over from Thanasis and the transition was seamless with Nikos giving us the same care and attention that Thanasis had given. The housekeeper was lovely too - always full of smiles. Earino is a little haven, a great place to stay if you’re looking for some peace and quiet. It’s location, right at the top of the mountains provides a brilliant view. We’ll definitely be staying here again.

Lovely cottage in a wonderul countryside near Iraklio. The cottage has everything you might need for a relexing and comfortable stay. Very clean and beautifully decorated. We enjoyed sitting on the porch in front of the house in the shade of the olive trees very much. The area is quiet at day and night and offers numerous walks of different lenghts in various directions. Our hosts were always available to help us with any information we needed. There is a little supermarket in the nearby village with a very good selection of vegetables, bread and meats. Nearest town Gazi with larger supermakets and a great gift and household goods shop (on the main street, you can´t miss it) and Ammoudara beach are only a 10-15 minutes´ drive away. Crete´s main town Iraklio with the extrodinary archeological museum featuring Minoan culture and civilisation is only 20-30 minutes´ drive away, with parking available in the port for 3 EUR/day. We loved all of it so much that we hope to visit again soon.
