First and foremost, the location is excellent as it is conveniently situated near numerous tourist attractions. This made it incredibly easy for me to explore and enjoy everything the city has to offer.
The breakfast at this hotel deserves special mention as it was truly outstanding. The variety and quality of the food provided exceeded my expectations, and I highly recommend guests to include breakfast in their booking. It's a delightful way to start the day and fuel up for the adventures ahead.
Additionally, I found the facilities in the room to be of great quality. Everything was clean, well-maintained, and functional, ensuring a comfortable stay throughout. It's always a relief when a hotel pays attention to these details, and this establishment certainly impressed me in that regard.
Overall, I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Patras. With its prime location, delicious breakfast, and well-appointed rooms, it offers a fantastic experience for travelers.

United KingdomThe room was a great size, plenty of room, it was clean and the balcony with a view across the sea was wonderful. Great addition was the tea and coffee facility in the room, as well as the fridge and safe, plus water dispensers on each floor and bottles in the room to refill. The bathroom was lovely, I think it could have done with a small barrier to stop the water escaping but it was not a problem.
The bed was amazingly comfortable too, we had a great night's sleep.
The breakfast was really good, plenty of choice of hot and cold food, always being replenished with tea and coffee that was really nice.
All of the staff we spoke with were very friendly and the whole place was lovely and clean, of course some of the decor in the room was well worn but that is not a problem and doesn't detract from the great stay we had.
The hotel itself was approximately 20 minute walk into the centre but it was a lovely walk, there are plenty of shops on the way.
Locally are supermarkets and coffee shops. The huge car park opposite the hotel is free, safe and with plenty of space.

Patra is a town full of University students that makes it a very live, fun town. There is a great balance of nightlife, city culture, sea and country experiences available. The Castle on the top of the hill is a must see as is the Roman Odeon. The best was walking down the main strip on a Friday night. The city was alive with people having a fabulous night out. Shopping, cafes and restaurants galore. Make sure you go when the Universities are running as you may have a very different experience.

From here, you can use a bus to reach Kiato, Corinth and Athens very cheaply. It is a beautiful town with nice monuments and ancient traditions. Pleasant city, active nightlife, many shops and excellent cuisine. From the Gulf of Patra you enter the Peloponnese. It is the right place to start a trip to Greece if you arrive by ferry from Italy, either with your own vehicle or simply on foot.

Patra has some great archaeological sites & a castle but don't visit on a Tuesday as they are closed all day. It was easy to walk where I wanted to. There were lots of buses but I didn't have time to find out where you could travel to. So for those who don't want to walk I'm sure public transport could be an option. There were many bars & cafes. Interesting street & shops. You are close to the port if you wish to get a ferry to somewhere.

Patra is not a city for tourists.
Patra is not a city for tourists. It is very dirty, there is glass and rubbish on every street and it is difficult to get around. We went for over a week for a hotel staycation but massively regretted it and couldn’t wait to leave. Food options are limited. Google maps listings are outdated and incorrect and it is just not a nice place for a tourist to be.

The city is lively and vibrant with many cafes etc., nice murals... but I was surprised it looks quite run down. Unfinished buildings, grafitti, unpaved areas, dried lawns and flowers, old benches, fountain not working, lots of beggars.
Does it deserve a better management/ mayor? The castle area has such a huge potential. A few cafes there and a pavement just in the process of building... but what have they been doing the last 10-15 years? As if the city was sleeping.... what is the story?
In my eyes, at the moment, just for a necessary stay over if you travel by ferry.

We spent a night there as the next morning we were taking a ferry to Zakynthos from Killini. Patra turns out to be a lovely place and the hotel is in the city center. We arrived on a Sunday so not a lot of places were open in the early afternoon and we took advantage of the restaurant on the last floor, we had a nice meal accompanied by a great view of the harbour and the surroundings. The rooms are somewhat dated but clean and spacious. The breakfast is worth it, good coffee and food.

Very spacious with a big bed. Two bedrooms and for me personally a bathtub and washer are big plus. Close to city center. The host was kind enough to let me in before check-in time so I could leave my luggage. Two balconies front and back.. I used to stay in a hotel nearby, but from the next visit on, this is the place for me in Patra. Just love it.

Absolutely beautiful room - the bathroom was fantastic and so was the view of the Garden. The restaurant in the hotel was one of the best meals we had in Greece. Incredible stay - we will be returning to the Bold Type Hotel when we stay in Patras again!

Old hotel not very far from the centre of Patras,very good option if you need a safe parking slot. Basic breakfast,simple rooms equipped with the basics. Nice and helpful staff. Good option to stay for couple of nights
