The hotel is located extremely well, benefits from public parking and the design of the rooms is very modern. Bathroom is very chic and has character, very comfy beds and pillows. Overall, the location is great - city centre with nightlife, many shops around, good restaurants and 5 min close to the ferry to Island Brac.

Makarska in the summer season is not for me.
Makarska in the summer season is not for me. It's an amusement park, water park, para sailing, hubub in the season. I went after all that shut for the season and enjoyed the beautiful town, the sea and the mountains in peace.

Makarska is a perfect size for exploring on foot.
Makarska is a perfect size for exploring on foot. It has a beautiful old town and is supplied with some great eating places. I would recommend Gastro Diva for a local eating experience. The beaches are good and there are some lovely walks around the peninsula.

Makarska is the capital of Makarska Riviera and has all required infrastructure with well-equipped beaches, rest areas, shops, transport connections and entertainment venues. Unfortunately, when we needed medical help and X-Ray inspection after getting trauma, we had to go to Split (State Hospital).

It's a rather small town, but has many options to enjoy yourself. Travelling to Split only takes just over an hour so you could choose to stay there more relaxingly instead of staying in busy Split.

The walk from Cuban each into town - approximately 3 km was lovely with lots of good beachfront cafes. Parking was expensive for beach access and difficult to get a Bolt/Uber the times we tried.
The rooftop restaurant was wonderful for a fine dining experience.

Makarska is nice place to visit in June and September.
Makarska is nice place to visit in June and September. July and August is very hot and a lot off tourists on the beach, and on the streets. A lot of traffic, problem to find parking place.
We only walk and stay overnight in Makarska center.
Biokovo skywalk is fantastic

Absolutely loved it, great family hotel, far exceeded my expectations. Loved the location, a short walk from Makarska with a buggy-friendly route. The staff were lovely. The facilities were class. The food was excellent, I tried something different every day. I have an 11 month old who is crawling so I am very conscious of the cleanliness of the floor but it was absolutely spotless throughout the entire hotel. I think I only saw 1 ciagrette butt during the whole 8 days.

We had a wonderful time at Valamar in Makarska, the hotel was excellent.
Having traveled all over the world staying at many famous hotels, I can say, that Valamar Hotel offers the world's BEST breakfast, It was amazing! The location is perfect, and we really enjoyed our stay.
The Staff were wonderful and attentive, always smiling and welcoming. I can't wait to return to Valamar Makarska!

Me and my mother had an amazing stay at this hidden oasis in the middle of the old town in Makarska. The manager and staff where all very kind and helpfull! I love to stay in smaller hotels since the atmotsphere is so much better, and this gem is no exception! Can highly reccomend this beautiful and friendly botique hotel to everyone! Would love to come back in the future.

Of our 9 different accomodations in Croatia this summer, Guesthouse Rose&Ana was by far the best! Extremely nice and helpful host, very spacious, modern and clean apartment with a nicely sized kitchen. Would definitely stay here again, and preferably for a longer time!
