Zagreb is a beautifully structured city divided between the upper (old Town) and the lower town. It is walking distance from one side to the other with many gardens cafe's and shops along the way, The tram service is very efficient and reliable.
It is interesting to see the Ethnographic museum, city of Zagreb museum and 1100 museum among others.
Medvedgrad castle is a must see, sitting on a mountain plateau with amazing views.
Sljeme mountain is spellbinding. I also tried the food served at the mountain restaurants and enjoyed a delicious meal.

We went for the Christmas markets which were only ok. We went to a very quaint little bar called Mia Corazon, which was very nice in decor and enjoyed a few glasses of sangria. We also went to a Macedonian restaurant called Makedonski Merak and had a great meat platter for two, excellent. The best part of this experience was that there was no smoking allowed. We also had a meal at Pub O1 which was excellent under an awning on a very rainy day. The most disappointing thing about Zagreb is that everyone smokes, inside and outside. It is one huge ashtray. I don't believe I will go back.

Great city for solo female travellers.
Great city for solo female travellers. I felt totally safe and in the centre there are always police. Museums are fantastic, and some offer disability discounts. I will definitely be back to visit the cemetery and castle. 2 days are perfect for seeing all the museums.

There are plenty of restaurants and bars at reasonable prices.
Everywhere was clean and litter free but it's a shame about the graffiti on the beautiful buildings.
The centre is walkable. There is an outdoor cafe culture.
The museums are a reasonable entry price and well done

we visited zagreb in early december and the advent markets...
we visited zagreb in early december and the advent markets were already up - very festive atmosphere with great street lighting and xmas markets. however, something not so well known and which we discovered only once we got there was that post the 2020 earthquakes, a no of the heritage buildings, churches and monuments were impacted with a no of them still undergoing repairs and hence closed for entry.

I was unaware of the 2020 earthquake. Rebuilding work is ongoing so a number of buildings remain closed and covered in scaffolding.
There are literally hundreds of museums. I recommend the Museum of Broken Relationships!
Use Bolt taxis - cheap and plentiful and a good way to get to/from the airport and cable car. Take the cable car up the mountain - well worth the journey.

New, very spacious and modern apartment in a good location. Convenient connection to the city center. Very friendly hosts - they greeted me with the key with a smile, answered every question precisely, took care of my comfort like the best hotels. The apartment is very clean, perfectly equipped above the standard for this type of apartments. I recommend it to anyone who wants to visit Zagreb and the surrounding area. I will definitely book again during my next visit to Zagreb.

From the first moments all the team at boutique hotel made me feel welcome and at ease. This started
with the airport pickup and ended for me at airport drop off. The location is perfect, the breakfast delicious and the terrace a peaceful place to relax. The rooms are comfortable. The team all provided recommendations for places to eat and visit. I loved my time in Zagreb and it was made more special staying at the boutique hotel.

We liked the proximity to the airport by car/taxi (reliable to airport for 9 euros) and two minutes walk to bus stop for frequent, cheap bus into Zagreb city centre. Very comfortable, sensible room with plenty of storage and space. Very good breakfast. 3 minute walk to grill restaurant. Free parking. Quiet AC and good sound proofing. Lovely hotel which we would use again without hesitation.

Amazing new hotel right in the city center, with incredible attention to details and exquisite design. I felt sad having to leave but will definitely come back again.
The restaurant was great, breakfast one of the best i’ve ever had!
