Everything was so comfortable and well thought out amenities for travelers. Parking was a breeze as well. Woody their dog is such a sweetheart! We loved chatting with the owners. They were helpful and friendly - we could have chatted with them all day!

Fabulous quiet cottage with original features and a view to die for. The sunsets were incredible. Unfortunately the name has been changed and no one in the area knows the new name so it took ages to find it. The new owners need to put a name on the gate.

A small fishing village with beautiful scenery nearby.
A small fishing village with beautiful scenery nearby. Parking could be an issue in hi-season, There are scenic boat trips around the islands and can be booked at the hotel. Off-season is quieter but no live music.

Easy access to tourist options.
Easy access to tourist options. Cliffs of Kerry are on private property on the outskirts of Portmagee and entry cost was 5 Euros per person - good views and a bit of a climb from the car park.
The Skellings chocolate shop was great. You can try many samples of different types of chocolate before buying.
Many people travel to Portmagee for the 45 minute boat trip (one way) and landing on Skellig Michael. Landing is weather dependant - and not guaranteed. Puffins are adorable and plentiful. Guide at top of the steep 600+ steps climb up to the beehive huts was informative. Toilet facilities only at the arrival point to the island.
Brayhead Tower is over the bridge on Valentia Island with fabulous views out to sea towards the Skelligs and cliffs of Kerry. Car park is paid by a 2 Euro coin only. It is a LONG walk to the tower.
Tetrapod trackway is free, difficult to see the tracks but fabulous views. The slate works are close to the Tetrapod trackway but visitor information is limited.
We ate both nights outside at "The Fishermans Bar & restaurant" in Portmagee. Service is good and friendly. They serve fresh fish caught that day and it was delicious.
The smalll supermarket is not well stocked with pre-filled rolls/sandwiches and appears to have limited supplies - suggest you shop at Cahersiveen or Sneem if you are self catering.

A fabulous Fishing village with stunning scenery.
A fabulous Fishing village with stunning scenery. Two very good restaurant/ bars in the town with excellent food & service just 5 minutes away from guest house. Stunning cliff top walk & Valentia Island minutes away with lots to see & do.
We liked everything about the property—location, facilities, parking, comfort, etc. But the best part of our stay was meeting Marie! She is very kind, friendly and warm. She even made sure we had snacks and breakfast items available in the room. We highly recommend staying at Skellig View Bluebell Rose & Kerry Cliffs and hope to return again ourselves. Delightful stay!
We chose the location rather randomly but it turned out to be very convenient to the things we wanted to see and do. It's about 2 km from Portmagee, and the Cliffs of Kerry attraction is walking distance. It was very quiet. It was nice that a bit of breakfast is provided: we got - for 2 of us - 4 pieces of bread, 2 eggs, some butter and jam, as well as tea and biscuits.
Driving from Cork to Portmagee and staying there was one of the best parts of our roadtrip through Ireland. The welcome was very friendly, the room was spacious and comfortable. I enjoyed our view on the pier. My boyfriend and I enjoyed a delicious seafood chowder in the restaurant next door. I am looking forward to coming back one day.
The location was convenient. Our host was attentive to our needs.
Best drinking water in Ireland; also best shower. They have a 22:00 noise curfew which we found refreshing.
There was Coffee and Tea in the room and a small table with nice chairs and a refrigerator in the hall where we could keep a few items.
The apartment was very clean, and the kitchen was well equipped. It was warm and the seating was good. Bed was comfortable. Hosts were friendly and helpful. The apartment is slightly tired but still a good place to stay. It is 2 kms out of Portmagee so it's quiet but a quick ride back into town if needed.
This hotel was WONDERFUL - highly recommend. The staff was so friendly. The room was spacious and clean. The breakfast was perfect - lots of choices and we loved the location. We were taking a boat to Skellig Michael and the harbor is right across the street. We had wished we could of stayed here longer.
Very clean. Just the right size for a short stay. Very accessible, in the town of Portmagee just adjacent to the bridge to go on to Valentia island. Everything we needed (even though we didn’t cook). Good heaters to heat the rooms as the weather was still very cold.
Beautiful area-watched a glorious sunrise with sheep 🐑 bleating in the background! Exactly what I wanted to see. Located very close to Cliffs of Kerry and Portmagee-the launch point for our visit to Skellig Michael. It was a highlight of our 10 day visit.
Brilliant location opposite the entrance to the Kerry Cliffs. Marie was super helpful and friendly, she also left us food to make a simple breakfast which we were very grateful for. Only a 5 minute drive from Portmagee. Would stay again
Simple and spotlessly clean, with some small personalised touches. Breakfast was a varied buffet including cheeses, cold cuts, cereal, etc. Attentive service and friendly hosts. Minutes from Portmagee and Kerry Cliffs
Nice and spacious house. Perfect location for visiting Valencia Island, Geokaun mountain, Ring of Kerry, Kerry Cliffs and so on.. Portmagee has everything you need, a small store, pubs and restaurants.
The location was walking distance to Portmagee and an easy drive to many hiking trails. the house was clean and comfortable and Tina was an amazing host.
Charming guest house a stone's throw from Portmagee. Communication with the staff was excellent. Everyone couldn't have been nicer. It was a great stay.
