It was clean, stylish, roomy with excellent service in where we had dinner. Food was good and great value for money and service was attentive and efficient. Room itself was well equipped and comfortable. I was very pleased with my stay. I hope to be back for a longer visit in the future.

I would like to mention Mr. krishkana, Mr. parshib and Ms. Sunita. Nothing flashy or overdone, but the improvements are noticeable and thoughtful. They clearly care about keeping the space fresh and clean. I am not sure that what I love about Kolkata is what will...
I am not sure that what I love about Kolkata is what will appeal to others. I love the variety, the vibrance, the unexpected, the kindness of the people towards me as a foreigner. Don't just visit the known tourist sites. There are quirky museums, buzzing night markets and parks that bring a breath of fresher air (and opportunities for bird watching) where people will want to chat to you and tell you about their India.

Kolkata is an exceptional city. To enjoy it, one has to have an open mind. It is a very crowded city and can be jarring sometimes. One has to look for hidden delights and tucked away gems. So explore.

This a very old city of mixed culture.
This a very old city of mixed culture. This is called "City of Joy". This is a very crowded city. But one should be careful while moving. Various restaurants with affordable price is available including street food. Convenience are cheap to move around. People in general are helpful to foreigners.

A lot to see and doing some guided tours recommended. It is hot, humid and possibly raining so need to pace yourself.
If you're visiting during festivals it can be very busy.
Highlights for us were the flower market, Howrah bridge and station, visiting the pandals during Durga Puja, the booksellers on College street and browsing the multiple markets and shopping malls (air conditioned.)

I have been traveling around India for the past 3 weeks and out of all the places I stayed all around, this is by far the best hotel. Hotel is if I’m not mistaken the oldest hotel in India and they are maintaining the heritage in a excellent manner. Friendly and helpful staff and housekeeping is the most professional that I have seen in all the years I have travelled. Breakfast buffet was exceptional and so was the staff. My experience in Oberoi was so good, I extended my stay adding a couple of more extra days in Kolkata.

Fairfield by Marriot in Kolkata is a wonderful hotel. Very professional staff who made sure we had a great stay. The room was fabulous, we were on the top floor with city views.The facilities in the room were excellent and the bed and pillows so comfortable.The food was delicious with buffet choices for dinner and breakfast with plenty of variety for both Indian and Western visitors. Very clean and spacious hotel and a great treat for us after travelling around Northern India for nearly a month.

Perfect place for a nice and comfy stay! located at 5th floor so it’s very quiet, soundproof walls, all essentials provided, tasty breakfast (2 options to chose from), dinner available if needed. In the surrounding area you will find a lot of shops, bars, restaurants etc. Walking distance to Park street or Victoria monument. Friendly and helpful staff! First hotel in India that I could really relax! Highly recommended!
