Had a good experience at the Cheroot Malt & Cigar Lounge trying out cocktails from the Cholatails menu......was truly impressed with the liquid poetry curated!
Breakfast at the Madras Pavilion was top notch too.......
I have dined in Avarthana last year..this was my first stay...and i am definitely coming back again and hope to stay longer and enjoy the hotel and probably have a tour as i simply love the touch of culture and modernity added to it. Close to the airport hence perfect location for a transit as well whilst exploring the rest on India. Special mention to the staff who were very kind and Keerthiga who was constantly checking on us from pre-arrival rite up to departure.........that is something really thoughtful. TQ....and bravo!

IndiaWe stayed here for 3 nights and had a very good experience. The stay was definitely value for money. The hotel is newly renovated, so everything looked fresh, clean, and well-maintained.
The facilities were good, visitors were allowed, and the overall service was professional, which made the experience comfortable.
I would definitely choose this hotel again if I come to Chennai in the future.

Beaches were beautiful near Thiruvanmiyur, Besant Nagar, Olive beach, Marina, Akkarai beach. Traffic and Humidity in city are unbearable. Local Trains MSB to VLCY , and Metro Trains were comfortable. Malls and Cinemas in ECR and OMR were fabulous! It rained a bit when I visited in August-September 2025, so it was pleasant. Be careful with the mass street dogs in the city especially nearby beaches. with a good number of public dogs wont attack but if you are alone or less in number and if they sense threat , the dogs might charge on you.Guest review byVivekIndia - 2.0

One of the staff feels he owns the place. Very uncooperative. Attitude is take it or leave it. Out of 2 rooms one room was full of cockroaches. Unclean sheets. Alternative room did not have proper locking system. I had booked 2 rooms for 5 nights and he wanted us to make full payment. So that we are stuck with the place. Chennai is not a city geared toward tourism. When we reached there the air port arrival section did not even offer wifi, we faced very uncomfortable situation due to this and was unable to use maps or taxi. The airport did not even have a booth where they provide sims. hence if you are travelling there be prepared. In addition when we went to a shop where they sell sims they were unable to give us one as one must have an Indian phone number to receive OTP. hence it was impossible for other nationalities to obtain a connection. this lead to may challenges. Majority of the taxi drivers and shop owner do not understand English. avoid Pondi Bazar for shopping and go to T Nagar, also be mindful of people who come begging for money and street vendors who are scammers.Guest review byRuieeKSri Lanka - 10.0
