Beautiful location around the lake surrounded by majestic mountains. Old ctycity worth exploring, traffic crazy, food great. Mughal gardens were wonderful, Nehru memorial garden uninspiring in the presence other masterpieces.

It's beautiful place with friendly people, I was afraid to...
It's beautiful place with friendly people, I was afraid to visit after hearing so much bad news but I found people from all community freely intermingling on streets and lot of respect and affection.
Presence of security forces everywhere gives a different feel than any other Indian state.
I would recommend everyone to visit Kashmir without any hesitation.

Srinagar is naturally a very beautiful place with majestic mountains all around and a couple of beautiful lakes. Exceptionally beautiful gardens with numerous varieties of flowers are all around the dal lake. Nishat, Shalimar, Cheshma Shahi and tulip gardens are a must see. The shikara rides and walks around the dal lake in the evening are so relaxing and romantic. A stroll in the downtown in the evening brings you closer to the place with lots of shopping areas and malls. The traffic can be a problem during the high tourist season so plan the day accordingly.
Kashmiri Wazwan is a must to eat at a good restaurant like Ahdoos or Shamyana. Wazwan is the Kashmiri cuisine and you can not leave without tasting.

we did not go any of attractions as we were just not...
we did not go any of attractions as we were just not interested in... went to Lal chowk to check out the local scene and had the Kashmiri meal at AHDOO under the houseboat host recommendation .. it was fine dining clean but the Wanwan meal .. was alright... nothing to shout about...wished we could have shared that plate as it was quite large portion

Despite a stray most heinous incident (?) of 22/04/2025 at Pahalgum on tourists, the average Kashmiri people are with the tourists, with people of India. I feel we, the Indians, should reciprocate their love and respect and continue to visit as an Indian state, as a matter of strong solidarity and against any terrorism threat.

Scenic areas were fascinating and memorable. Traveling to places of interest were frustrating due to heavy traffic and local mafia tactics in some areas, It appears the tourists industry employers recruit staff on very low wages and expects the tourists to make tips to subsides workers income level. Could not agree with entrance fees and exit fees to some towns. Local towns were were quite untidy and unclean at olaces.

Owner is really caring person. Saw him taking good care of foreigners and we felt really comfortable en this stay. It’s in a more quiet zone in Srinagar bit more difficult to reach but the peace is worth it. Beautiful garden feels like you are inside nature. The room was big enough and bed was really comfortable. We found it a really affordable price compared to other hotels, amazing quality-price and we got to be inside nature despite in the middle of the city.

Excellent hotel just near dal lake and mesmerizing mountain view from room. Room services are good. Specially the owner Waseem is an excellent person always for your help. Room is very clean and comfortable. This hotel is a good option to stay at srinagar.
