BulgariaLoved the place very scenic. The staff was amazing too. We were running late for dinner at the hotel and the restaurant was going to close by the time we got there. The Staff managed to put away food for us on the side this way when we got to the hotel we had all the meals ready. Thank you hotel Laxa for the great hospitality and good stay!

GermanyThis was the best hotel we stayed in Iceland. The free amenities (Sauna, Hot tub, pool billiard, bathrobe, flip flops, etc.) and the free breakfast were just great. The room was modern and spacious. The northern lights wake up call is a wonderful free service (we didn't have any luck though). The location is incredible across from a volcano walking trail. Seriously, we were so excited when we saw what the hotel offers for such little money (in March). Will definitely stay here again when I return. Thank you!

United StatesExcellent all around. Guests have the entire top floor of a lovely two-story house, which is very spacious, comfortable and quiet. There are modern furnishings mixed with older items drawn from the owner’s family, which are quite unique. Great views from the second-story windows and porch of Lake Myvatn, steaming geothermal features in the distance, and the lava fields, and there is a steam vent right outside the front door. Excellent location for exploring the Myvatn area. The hosts are a delight: very friendly and helpful. Don’t forget to ask for a loaf of bread, baked underground by the geothermal heat.
