There is also a radiator that heats up the room very quickly. There are a small fridge and a kettle as well. It was very peaceful, the sound isolation is great. It was a wonderful start of our journey, I would gladly come back!

This was a perfect place for us to stay on our last night in...
This was a perfect place for us to stay on our last night in Iceland. We wanted to be closer to the airport, but didn't want to stay in Reykjavik so the location was a big draw for us. We thoroughly enjoyed going to the Raufarhólshellir lava tube, also in the area, so staying here let us continue exploring Iceland while also preparing for our flight home.

Lovely, cosy cabin/cottage with all the facilities you could...
Lovely, cosy cabin/cottage with all the facilities you could wish for and very tastefully decorated. Akurgerdi is in a great location with amazing views, close to all the amenities & shops of Selfoss (10 mins drive away) and golden circle highlights. A short walk/drive to the neighbouring viking restaurant Ingólfsskáli which is a must if you stay at Akurgerdi. Our host Sabine was very helpful and informative even to the point of telling us when the Northern lights were making an appearance. The only downside is that we weren't able to stay longer! Would definitely recommend and would love to be able to stay again.
